Joe Jackson Is Still Creepy
During an interview with CNN's Don Lemon on the red carpet of the BET Awards last night, Joe Jackson was nervously shuffling around like Amy Wino going through security at the airport. I know Joe Jackson isn't known for being a fluffy teddy bear filled with hugs and kisses, but dude wasn't even pretending to have the sads about his dead son. When Don said that this must be awful for the entire family, Joe said, "It has. The world lost the biggest star." What he meant by that is...."I just lost my favorite cash cow! MOOO!"
While watching this epic display of uncomfortableness, I wondered why Joe Jackson was even there. And then the answer came to me at the 3:20 mark. Joe actually plugged his new production company and some Blu-Ray Discs he's putting out. This is the most awkward infomercial ever!
I'm surprised Joe didn't go all out by saying, "And Michael Jackson will be buried in NIKE sneakers, because NIKE was his favorite brand. Just do it. Yesh, he loved NIKE. Also, my fondest memories of Michael Jackson is when he would call me on Sunday nights to tell me how delicious HOT POCKETS brand paninis are. Michael used to say how tender and flaky on the outside. HOT POCKETS, Michael Jackson's favorite microwaveable treat. Oh and Michael was also looking forward to seeing ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS which hits theaters this Wednesday, July 1st.........."
Although, I will give Joe a half-clap for matching his eyebrows with his pocket square. I'll give him that.

I said this before, but I believe it to be true now.
Few years back I ran into some dude hanging out at a Union 76 gas station in Los Angeles (State & Marengo, for those in the know). This was at some crazy hour of the night, but anyhow, I digress...
The dude - dressed head to toe in Nike gear - told me he was related to Michael Jackson and did a spin like MJ's to emphasize his statement; he produced an 8x11 photo for me to look at. There was indeed a strong resemblance between him and the Jackson clan. When he saw I was actually listening to what he was saying, he told me that the reason MJ was so screwed up was due to his family, namely his father Joe.
What struck me was all the names he would recite, of various Jackson family members.
What stayed with me was that he said "rebbi" was Janet's mother, not Katherine. There is a 16 yr difference between Rebbi & Janet. Further, some accounts of the family allege Rebbi is bringing up Janet's daughter, the "secret child" she bore with Debarge.
Anyone else ever heard such a thing?

He is in the least, partially responsible for MJ becoming a fucked up mess of a human being. In fact you could make a compelling argument that he is partially responsible for MJ's death. If this miserable fucker had been anything close to a real dad, MJ may have had a chance. Fucking asshole needs to be put down.

Unfuckingbelievable! He made me sick just listening to him on video, imagine having to grow up with that monster as your father? Having to live with him day in and day out. Every day, dealing with that demon yelling, and abusing you. I hope those kids will end up in a safe environment, I really hope so. If they end up living there, it's just going to add to the tragedy of MJ's death.
WOW. THIS IS SO SAD. Even after his death...his father sees him still as only a money making machine. This sorry excuse of a man and father should be devastated and mourning the death of his son who he will be burying, not show up at some award show dressed up like a pimp on the south side of chicago, acting like he just unfortunately ran over the neighborhood dog. What a horror of a human being. No wonder MJ was so messed up. he never knew love so he never loved himself...trite as it may sound.

You hardly come across as devastated about a loved one's death when you're whoring yourself out to every interview opportunity that comes along.

I am trying to comprehend the hypocrisy here! Why the hell does Joe Jackson need to parade his 'abusive father ass' onstage, crocodile tears in tow, and suck up the limelight? Michael was a truly prolific and talented artist, however the psychological damage this young boy suffered at the hands of this man is clearly evident in who he became. When is pop culture going to stop glorifying success that is attained through the exploitation of impressionable young talent and then throwing them out with the bath water. The fact that this human being felt compelled to reject his African American heritage by altering his physical appearance and skin color is nothing to celebrate. The culture vultures gorging on their piece of the pie abandoned Michael Jackson's greatest need, love. I am sad for MJ's inability to replace that which was truly missing from his childhood. No amount of award ceremony pats on the back and false tears will ever change the fact that Joe failed in his parental obligation to stand by his son until the bitter end. This should be a wake up call to the values that we seem to glorify and embrace for our own selfish satisfaction.

Well some of the rumors that are in the biz are that Evil Joe had Michael castrated when he was young to preserve the high voice. That explains the child-like qualities, soft high voice and asexuality. My heart broke when I heard that.
Another rumor that has been swirling for years is that Michael was sexually abused. Joe would offer him to music honchos and poor Michael would often come back crying.

I agree. I mean he was the one who proclaimed he wanted to be a solo artist and break free from The Jacksons. I think he started out stronger, but as more people betrayed him and he went through difficulties and disease, I think his spirit broke and he became a shell of his former self over the years.

Lupus can lead to hair loss and it is one of the symptoms. Rheumatoid arthritis is common in Lupus patients as well as weight loss, though Micheal's is way too significant which means he was exacerbating the problem. Given the pain and exhaustion that Lupus patients experience I don't know how he was going to pull off 1 concert let alone 50. Stress causes "flares" so he could not have been feeling anywhere near as great as people were claiming right before he died.
