Pabst, the winner of the World's Ugliest Dog contest 2009! Pabst, a boxer-mix with a serious under bit from Citrus Heights, CA, beat out a dozen beautifully fugly dogs to win the crown as well as $1,600 in prizes and a modeling contract. Pabst is the first non-Chinese Crested dog to win the title in 5 years.
Below is a video clip of some of the other dogs and you'll see that Pabst isn't that fugly! I don't want to hiss at him or throw holy water at his face, so he's not that bad! Before 3 years of headgear use and 5 years of braces, my teeth practically looked like that.
With a wig, some lipstick, a pair of fake lashes and a new set of plastic titty balls, Pabst could practically pass for a housewife on The Real Housewives series. Bitch would look better actually.

ohhh...he is soo cute! Seriously...I have a serious soft spot in my heart for overbites in dogs..I used to work at a veterinary hospital, and I would see some angels with overbites..and it just made my no-heart go pitter patter. It is endearing and sweet and kind of nerdy. NO DOG IS UGLY BECAUSE THERE HEARTS ARE ALL GOOD! My fave is english bulldogs...cute as hell!

I love this dogs face! I was ready to never fall in love with any winner of this contest after Sam died. But here he is!
I embrace the things that disqualify my dogs from AKC dog shows. I love pretty much any dog, but I think my dogs' physical "flaws" make them more adorable.
I currently own a Great Dane and two mutts, and even though I love my Great Dane, I love the mutts as much as I love her. One is an underweight labrador-German Shepherd mix (?) with an overbite and kitten ears and the other is a labrador mix with a fluffy, curly tail and huge ears.
All three of them are beautiful and loving animals.

I'm no animal rights freak, but these contests kind of piss me off. Unlike pageants featuring human beings (which are 95% of the time bullshit, but whatever), animals can't decide whether to participate in these contests.
I don't agree with dog shows, either, but these ones grind my gears because they're just mean. Owners should love their pets without exploiting and ridiculing them in such a mean-spirited way.

I saw a show about one of the dogs that won an ugly dog contest and the dog "wrote" (co-authored with his owner, lol)a book and visited schools, etc. They interviewed some of the children after the dog's visit and they thought the dog was dumb at first but once they got to 'know' him they loved him and thought he was sweet. I thought maybe having these 'ugly' but totally lovable dogs in dog shows would help people to see that beauty is only skin deep with pets too. Ugly dogs need love too!!! lol

We owned a Chinese Crested for 10 years and he was the BEST dog ever!! He was so loving, very protective and loyal to my son who was 10 years old when we got Buster. I would have another in a heartbeat if I came across one. Don't make fun of them if you have never been around one. They are awesome dogs. Also, he did not have any "defects". Lovely dogs.
