Is Josh Steppin' Out On Diane?
Josh Brolin is one of those dudes that I always forget is an authentic and pure asshole. When I look at pictures of him the word "fucktard" doesn't immediately jump out at me, but every now and again I'm reminded of his assholian ways. Like the time he allegedly got physical (and not in the Olivia Newton-John way) with Diane Lane. This was back in 2004 and Josh was arrested for domestic battery. Diane later dropped the charges and said it was all a misunderstanding. Well, Josh might be at it again. InTouch says that Josh was caught getting intimate with a woman who isn't his wife.
On May 21st, Josh and some local broad named Melissa Green were partying at New Orlean's Royal Street Inn. Josh is currently filming Jonah Hex down there. A witness-type said that after they finished boozing, Josh took Melissa to the movie's set at 11:35 pm. They stuck around there for several hours and left together at 7:23 am. The witness added, “Josh looked like he hadn’t slept at all. She was wearing the same outfit as the night before and looked embarrassed.”
InTouch offers up that picture on the left as PROOF! Yeah, I believe it. Although, it doesn't look like he's having an affair with a woman. It looks like he's having an affair with a giant pole. He's looking at it like he can't wait to caress and embrace it.
Would Josh really cheat on Cherry Valance?! Didn't he learn anything from Unfaithful? Cheating only leads to you getting hit over the head with a snow globe, rolled into a rug and stuffed into the truck of a car. Your body will spend the rest of eternity in front of a traffic light.

You know I can never tell if he's an asshole. Part of me thinks he's a little like Penn (or his character in Nightwatch) but another part of me thinks he ain't so bad.

It doesn't matter if you're rich or poor, fat or thin...women that stay in abusive relationships all have on thing in common. They're caught in the Cycle of Violence that defines these couples. Lenore Walker wrote a ground breaking book on the subject. First there's the buildup of tension, then the explosion then the honeymoon phase where the abuser is all sorry. This phase actually gets shorter and shorter as time goes on and the longer you stay the more the violence escalates.
Usually it takes the woman many tries before she actually leaves the creep. It seems abusive behavior and cheating go hand in hand.
Hopefully she'll leave sooner rather then later. Many women find they've wasted a good part of their lives with abusive men, giving away their youth and best years. It's so sad.
Since Josh and Russell Crowe sorta look alike I assumed that Josh was an asshole because of this, aside from the whole cheating thing. He really needs to at least try and cover his tracks a little better...otherwise just divorce Diane Lane already!

PSL- good for you! I used to end things sort of abruptly (well, seemingly for the guy I dumped) if something shifted and seemed dicey. Ha! But yeah.. we're all connected to the matrix man (inhales..:) and that means we all can tune in to that stuff.
My mom is dating again after her divorce and she has been emailing me some photos. For fun I would just write a paragraph or two about him (like: he's outgoing./cheerful but after a bit will have extreme moods, not dangerous but sudden mood swings.. or 'he likes to plan nothing..and talks to every stranger possible when he is out and about..' shit like that. She said it's been accurate so far and she got freaked out. Hilarious. My aunts read tea leaves back in the old country so what the hell. LOL. I won't be doing that though."P
And I forgot to add.. his dad I have always thought was so handsome and together.. Brolin is nothing like his dad. Besides starring in the amazing 'Hotel' series (ha!) his dad seems a lot more mellow. I wonder how James Brolin deals with being married to that high maintenance shrike (yes, talented but so OTT princessy) Babs Streisand.

He's a pretty good actor (I just saw 'Bush', he was great) but honestly.. actresses should know how insane/narcissistic actors are. Steer the fuck clear!
Lane was married to the hot piece Christopher Lambert (well, he was hot in Greystoke!) and I like her. I love that she hasn't fucked with her face like her peers and she doesn't have skin so taut that she looks like she's always doing a handstand.
Anyway, PSL you are so damned right on about the esteem thing. You let someone treat you like crap (and take the lazy easy way out) why should they stop?
I dated an abusive dick once (first relationship, I was sooo young) but am glad- I got out fast, unharmed and my dick-dar is unparalleled. I sniff out abusive/cheaters better than most. It's freaky but even friends trot new prospects by me for my impressions. And I don't judge based on looks/clothes (my friend was dating a scary looking metal head for a long time, most people would balk at him) but I liked him right away. He had good energy. I guess I take advantage of just knowing that stuff. Most people do I think but ignore their instincts and that's where they go wrong.
Every time I see this asshole on a talk show, i.e., Leno or Letterman, he comes across as a snotty smart ass. He has no personal relevance whatsoever and I wonder why a class act like Diane Lane sees in him. Huge dick maybe?

Well, it's true that one sure way to make a man happy is to make him a really good sandwich. Maybe that's why my SIL is still single.
