Mike Tyson's 4-Year-Old Daughter Is On Life Support

Mike Tyson's 4-year-old daughter Exodus is in critical condition at a hospital in Phoenix after her throat somehow got caught on a cord hanging from a treadmill. MyFox Phoenix says that yesterday morning Exodus' 7-year-old brother found her hanging from the cord and immediately screamed for his mother. She was unresponsive at the time. Exodus' mother called 911. When they arrived, they performed CPR and then took her to the hospital.

Police are investigating, but believe it was accidental. Apparently, Exodus was playing near the treadmill while her mother was cleaning in another room. Her mother sent Exodus' brother to look for her.

Mike Tyson was not in town at the time, but he has traveled back home and is now with his daughter at the hospital.

This is not the kind of news I want to see in my Inbox on a Tuesday morning. It's not the kind of news I want to see ever. This is sad and tragic in every way. Hopefully, Exodus pulls through and fully recovers. Good thoughts to her and her family.

My hero for ever...I came across an online community for individual seeking interracial love. It is blackwhitemeet.com All singles there are seeking interracial relationships. Interracial is not a problem there, but a great merit to cherish!

This sucks. This just sucks, and my heart breaks for this little one and the people who love her. I can't imagine a fate worse than losing your kid; even the slowest, most agonising and gruesome death of your own has to be better than that, somehow.

I just don't know how to put it any better than that.

I almost never comment about someone's passing on here, because it's usually about someone who had a long life and illustrious career. Yes, I enjoyed them, but it was time.

No. She's still on life support as of the 6 pm news. So terribly sad.

That's so sad. My mother used to tell me that all kids like to put things around their neck. And it's so true. Kids don't know any better. Poor baby. A miracle would be nice here.

My mom has a lifelong phobia of snakes stemming back to a simple and almost tragic incident when I was 3. I was playing in the front yard, and my dad was pouring concrete for a new sidewalk. Dad was watching me, more or less. Mom happened by the front door on her way up the stairs, and saw me just about to pick up a copperhead snake that was just moseying along the sidewalk. She yelled through the screen door, and my dad cut off the snake's head with a shovel. My mom still cannot look at even a picture of a snake. I'm 39.

It's really scary how fast things can happen, how quickly they can turn tragic. Like others here, I'm not a fan of Mike Tyson, but no family deserves to have this happen. I wish her a speedy recovery or failing that, a peaceful passing.

What difference does it make what her name is or how many children Mike Tyson has "out of wedlock"? Mike is an ass but the issue is that his little girl is in critical condition caused by an accident. An accident that shouldn't have happened, but could possibly happen to anyone. It is virtually impossible to watch your children 24 hours of every single day. Best wishes to the precious little Exodus and her family.

This is so sad, poor child, mother and father. I hope she makes it through this.

"Moral: anything can happen with kids and it has nothing to do with neglect. Other moral: thank god I was there and not downstairs. You can do everything to ensure safety and still have a horrific accident if you have kids. "

I absolutely agree with you and we should not be pointing fingers. This rope from the treadmill was not an obvious hazard. Kids hang themselves from blinds. Also she could be almost 5 in which she is probably VERY independent and it certainly is not neglectful to have the child in another room seperate from you. I have a 4 1/2 yr old daughter who is VERY smart and savvy. Yes I do let her watch TV in a room by herself. We have no pool, or obvious hazards. The doors are locked. A child can potentially make ANYTHING a hazard. Kids get crushed by TV's, dressers.

This is so sickenly tragic. I hope this little girl recovers but according to news reports it does not look good. I do not like Mike Tyson but I would never wish any ill will towards anyone's children.

This is truly a freak accident. Not like an obvious hazard like a vicious dog, or a swimming pool, or a gun. What are the odds that a child would accidentally hang themselves? I am trying to figure out why a rope would be hanging from the console of a treadmill, unless it was for a dog or something.

But.Seriously.Folks's picture

Godspeed to this little lady on so many levels...

...first for her condition, second, her dad is Mike Tyson, third, her name is Exodus. Jesus, help the children. It isn't a fair fight.

Exodus? Really? Why the fuck would you name your kid that? Exodus is Latin, based on the ancient Greek word exodos which means to depart...seriously bad idea. BTW Exodus from the bible means the same thing.

WOW that is scary, why was this 4 yo alone in another room, she's still too small to not be watched.
I just wish she comes out of it and is okay.

This news just breaks my heart. So sad!!! I'm sending my best wishes to her and her family. Be strong little one!

Let me dirty up your mind.

Really tragic story. I cannot imagine the immense torture and guilt the mother must be feeling. When it comes to watching kids, there is no way you can watch them 24/7, without doing anything else. As much as you want to childproof your home, it is truly impossible. My son climbs on top of my kitchen counters when I run to the bathroom. He thinks it's funny, I think of his head split open if he were to fall. What should I do? Get rid of the the kitchen cabinets? Sometimes you just have to hope they don't do something stupid while you're getting dinner ready or putting laundry away.

I hope this little girl makes it without any long term damage. I was reading an article about this, and they mentioned that they lived in a modest home in Phoenix. You just get this picture in your head of an average home, average family...and a horrible cirucmstance.

Talk all the shit you want about Mike Tyson but the truth is, he has had a very hard life...and now this? Sending good vibes....

Fuck me running......

Okay, when I first read this, I was like "Umm, so why was her mother unconcious, too?" But now I see she wasn't. Just the child..

How horrific. So sad. An important story. Too much garbage being sold in stores, with no regard for the safety of the persons who will be living with this crap in their homes. How hard could it be to manufacture and sell only safe window treatments? We've been to the moon, for crying out loud, and we can't design those Walmart blinds to be safe? Or even the custom ones? Hello.

I hope this kid pulls through. Sad sad sad to read stories like these. Hope today all mommies and daddies will check the house for potential safety hazards, and maybe give their children a few extra hugs!

At least you're used to kids. When we brought our oldest home, I freaked OUT. Wanted to stay in the hospital until he was like... eight. :P

i wouldn't know what to do with a newborn either. i took care of a 5 month old until she was 14 months.

IrishFury's picture

A couple of months ago I was in the bathroom which is attached to our bedroom. My kid was in my bedroom and I walked out from the bathroom into the bedroom and started doing something and saw her feet and I remember thinking "are her feet half an inch from the ground? how could that be?" and I heard a tiny sound and looked at her and she had the cord of the blinds wrapped around neck and had hung herself.

My whole reaction was within 2-3 seconds but I nearly throw up after, I got such a fright. She's fine but she had the cord mark around her neck for a couple of hours. I had dinner that night with my husband and kids and I remember thinking that I could have been talking with the coroner instead - all in the blink of an eye.

Our bedroom window is the ONLY one with cords, we got cordless for safety in the kids' rooms, but our window size didn't make them in cordless. I remember thinking that it'd be ok and several years later, my 4 year old hung herself on it. I feel like puking now just thinking about it now and it happened within seconds, with her in the master bedroom and me in the master bathroom.

We have changed the cords since.

Moral: anything can happen with kids and it has nothing to do with neglect. Other moral: thank god I was there and not downstairs. You can do everything to ensure safety and still have a horrific accident if you have kids.

Best thoughts to that kid and her mom, I've been there but got lucky.

LOL! i cannot see it! and i don't want to :)
i know, you can't watch them 24/7 but when you can, you should.

I have one child (seven years old now), and I watched him very closely at a younger age (still do), he never went into cabinets or was into anything he shouldn't be. One day I relaxed myself and didn't watch him as closely as normal and he was in the next room. He pulled a dresser with a TV on top of it onto himself. I almost had a fucking heart attack. He was okay, not a scratch but holy shit it happens so fast.

I immediately went back into obsessive watching ever since.

Young kids are far more creative in getting into trouble, than I am at preventing it. It is not possible to watch them 100% of the time. Can you just see it?: "OK, kids. Everyone into the bathroom, daddy has to take a dump but you can't be left alone."
