In her answer to Perez Hilton, Miss California said it's good that people can choose same-sex marriage or "other" marriage, which is factually incorrect. The federal government does not recognize gay marriage, only a handful of states do.

Furthermore, Perez' question wasn't about her personal opinion on gay marriage. It was about states legalizing marriage, which requires a different answer pertaining to HOW they are being legalized.
