In Case You Missed It: Paula Abdul's Lip Sync Extravaganzaaaaaa
Paula Abdul lip-synched FOR HER LIFE on American Idol last night during her performance of her new single "I'm Just Here For The Music (And The Lidocaine)." It might have been the Theraflu/NyQuil haze I was in, but I found that shit HIGHlarious (punned on purpose)! Even Scott could see that bitch was lip-synching. I mean, I don't even think her lips were moving. But the best part is when she used two mics to get the lip-synching job done! The "little vicodin pill who can't" was already wearing a head mic and then she scuttled over to another mic and lip-synched into that. Did Mel Brooks write that gag, because it was fucking classic!
So was that song actually. C-3PO sounded more human than that mess. You know Vicki the Robot is the real voice behind Paula's song. Vicki is the Martha Wash of the robot world.
How many of you were hoping one of the dancers flipped her ass too high causing her to get stuck in the rafters? One of the dudes should have thrown Paula towards the judge's table, because she might have knocked Kara DioLEAVEALREADY in the mouth, finally unlocking her damn jaw!
And I also loved Paula's final line before she left the stage, "Gentlemen, I'm just here for the music!" It is your duty to say that line every time you enter a room.

I dont' think anyone actually thought she was singing... was no big deal with all that dancing, it would be impossible. I mean look at Gwen Stefani (overrated), she was huffin and puffin out of breath and sounded like Shit. I didn't have a problem with the song at all.

I'm all for bashing one-note pop acts who have no talent, but this is not the case with Abdul.
1. Kylie fans: Tell Kylie to write her own songs and then she can stop Paula from recording them. The rights of a song belong to the writers and in this case Paula Abdul was given said rights to record this song.
2. Auto-Tune is not a miracle drug for singers. In Paula's case here on this song, it is used to create a lot of the effect you hear. Paula is actually singing the correct notes in order to get that sound out of auto-tune. If you actually were ever in a recording studio session when someone was laying down their vocals, you would understand this.
3. Paula, back in the day, would sing live over a backing track. Unfortunately in this day-and-age that is not expected. You should, however, be impressed at this performance when comparing it to your Rhiannas and Britney Spears especially who just walks around and lip syncs. At least Paula Abdul here actually did an entire dance routine at near 50 years old after not doing a solid round of performances since about 1995.
4. Everyone who thinks Paula cannot sing: You should recall back in 90s her background singer sued Virgin Records claiming they blended Abdul's voice with hers on several of the Forever Your Girl tracks. Paula ruled last night!She lip synced better than any of those past icons that performed on Idol. Bette Midler? Sounded like she fell down the music stairs hitting every sour note on the way,Natalie Cole, God bless her and I hope she makes a full receovery, Diana Ross didn't seem to realize the song was over and she kept on cackling,Freda Payne gave me one,Tony Bennett, sounded like they woke him up from the 1960's, so many horrible performances to name a few. These are consimate singers and they don't even consider to record the song and lip sync?? shameful. oh and BTW Simon totally had a boner after Paula's performance!

Any experienced entertainer (singer) knows that it is impossible to sing and dance at the same time....no matter how great your breath control is...if these entertainers didn't lipsync...all you would hear would be gasping breath and lyrics not enunciated clearly
As Phil Collins once said: "If you can't sing and dance at the same time, don't dance!"
Kylie Minogue is a perfect example. When she performs, she stops dancing when she sings.

The Forever Your Girl record was my JAM back in the day! The Cold Hearted Snake video was my everything for a hot minute (literally). Watching this, what's mainly going through my mind is that I wish I had some of MK's NyQuil, because they don't sell it in my country. (I drank that shit up when I got sick in NY).
