When A Dirty Mouth Can Get You Into Trouble
If you can't swear during an emergency, when can you? Seriously. Every other word that comes out of my gutter mouth is a "fuck" or "cunt" word, so I can only imagine what I would sound like during a 911 call. The operator would have to wash his ears out with Tidy Bowl and go to confession after he was done with me. When bitches panic, a whole lot of "fucks" tend to come flying out, because they are freaking out! Well, a dumb fuck police officer in Lincoln Park, Michigan doesn't understand this.
When a 17-year-old girl's father, who was at home recovering from brain surgery, had a seizure, she immediately called 911. While the phone was ringing, she said "What the fuck?" I guess 911 starts recording even while the phone is ringing, so the officer heard her curse. His panties got all twisted up and he told her to stop using that kind of language. The girl answered with, "Send me a fucking ambulance!" HA! The cop responded by hanging up on her face!
The girl called a few more times and each time ended with the cop hanging up on her. Yes, the girl kept cursing and threatened to sue him, but the cop also never asked her what the emergency was. He even called her a buffoon. Yeah, what an amazing comeback.
The cop finally called the police department, but made it sound like the girl was the crazy one. While he was doing this, the girl ran a couple of blocks to the police department to get an ambulance. Well, who was there to greet her? Her arch rival, Officer Prudy McPrudester! He arrested her on the spot and booked her for a crime that doesn't even exist.
The girl's father eventually got help and he's recovering at home. The girl and her family got a lawyer and plan to sue the police department.
Obviously, this dude's ears are fragile like fresh spring daisies, so he should probably not be answering 911 calls. All he had to do was tell the girl, "Bitch, calm the fuck down and tell me what the fuck is fucking wrong!" Speak her language! Is that so hard to do?

Do they have tests to determined supreme dumbasses before the police force hire people? They need to come up with one. I hope this family gets millions.
Most departments DO have intensive background searches, psych evals, etc.
But, sadly, most people don't want to do a job where so many people hate your ass and standards have been steadily lowering across the country.
SOME departments still have very strict standards, but it is getting increasingly difficult to fill the empty spots without letting the "lesser" qualifieds qualify.
Sad statement on society, actually.

Typical cop. He can get all tough with a teenage girl but he runs from the reporter. If he's so confident that he was right in that situation he would explain himself. But he can't since he's full of shit.
Although this isn't quite as bad as the cop that raped an intoxicated woman in the East Village last month when he was supposed to be helping her.
Unfortunately, as long as they keep lowering the standards and paying cops nothing this is the type of officer that the public can expect to deal with.

I'm serious, this makes me just fucking HATE cops. First, a couple nights ago my boyfriend and I are watching a cop from our window. He's sitting in an unmarked car with all his lights off in the middle of the night, keeping an eye on a stop sign in front of our house that ALWAYS gets ran. We couldn't believe a cop was finally watching the sign since the whole neighborhood has been bitching about it since we moved here. Well, he goes to take off after someone on the main road that he sees doing some fuckery....and seriously almost causes an accident. He flies onto the road WITHOUT PUTTING HIS COP LIGHTS OR HIS HEADLIGHTS ON, cuts off a car and we can hear the rubber squealing from inside..the car just sits there for a minute, shaken as the unmarked cop car speeds off into traffic, still with no lights on and no sired. Yes, we were sure it was a cop because it had previously pulled someone over using lights on the back of the car.
Second, we called the police because someone was fucking going nuts on the loudest motorcycle on earth, revving up the engine and driving around at crazy speeds like a drunken lunatic. This woke us up at three AM a few nights ago. I looked out my window and watched him do it a few times before I got fucking freaked out and called the cops. He circled around a few more times then sped off, but I watched and not a single cop even did a drive-by of the area, and there is a fucking police station a block away.
Third, we used to live next to a now-Deputy Sheriff who left his cat locked in his apartment for a month to die. I called to police and filed a formal report and obviously, documented animal abuse isn't a valid reason to keep someone off the force. It goes on and fucking on. Our lives are in the hands of trash.

My folks were raised and escaped a dictatorship country and raised me with a watered down version of their own fear based respect of authority.
In the last 10 years I have seen, heard and experienced too many cases of negligent actions of those paid to protect us.
Whilst I have genuine respect and applaud the majority of those who do a job many of us wouldn't want to do very well - I am grateful we have so many avenues to be heard when we need to be.

Wow- that was downright disgraceful the way that officer handled the girl's calls.
Even IF she was swearing, he was more concerned with her lack of "respect" and used his "power" (i.e. hanging up on her in a potentially life threatening situation) to show her who's boss, eh?
He's manning the phones, the gateway between the people and emergency services, and THIS is how he chooses to behave.
Absolutely disgraceful. He should be disciplined a LOT harder than 2 weeks without pay. Through no effort or initiative on his part the dad didn't die, but for all he knew the guy could have been on a minute by minute countdown to death without emergency services. I LOVE how he lies to the fire dept that he "couldn't" find out what it was about.
The fact that he outright LIED and it is on tape, proveable beyond a doubt that his intention was NOT to find out and help the 911 caller just BEGS that his ass should be fired. FIRED.
No excuse for that bullshit. TOTALLY unprofessional and could have cost someone their life.
