When A Dirty Mouth Can Get You Into Trouble
If you can't swear during an emergency, when can you? Seriously. Every other word that comes out of my gutter mouth is a "fuck" or "cunt" word, so I can only imagine what I would sound like during a 911 call. The operator would have to wash his ears out with Tidy Bowl and go to confession after he was done with me. When bitches panic, a whole lot of "fucks" tend to come flying out, because they are freaking out! Well, a dumb fuck police officer in Lincoln Park, Michigan doesn't understand this.
When a 17-year-old girl's father, who was at home recovering from brain surgery, had a seizure, she immediately called 911. While the phone was ringing, she said "What the fuck?" I guess 911 starts recording even while the phone is ringing, so the officer heard her curse. His panties got all twisted up and he told her to stop using that kind of language. The girl answered with, "Send me a fucking ambulance!" HA! The cop responded by hanging up on her face!
The girl called a few more times and each time ended with the cop hanging up on her. Yes, the girl kept cursing and threatened to sue him, but the cop also never asked her what the emergency was. He even called her a buffoon. Yeah, what an amazing comeback.
The cop finally called the police department, but made it sound like the girl was the crazy one. While he was doing this, the girl ran a couple of blocks to the police department to get an ambulance. Well, who was there to greet her? Her arch rival, Officer Prudy McPrudester! He arrested her on the spot and booked her for a crime that doesn't even exist.
The girl's father eventually got help and he's recovering at home. The girl and her family got a lawyer and plan to sue the police department.
Obviously, this dude's ears are fragile like fresh spring daisies, so he should probably not be answering 911 calls. All he had to do was tell the girl, "Bitch, calm the fuck down and tell me what the fuck is fucking wrong!" Speak her language! Is that so hard to do?

That's still no excuse for that cop's behavior. I've worked for the government for 11 years (low-income rental assistance), & I've had some people say some of the worst things to me imaginable. But regardless of what they say, *I* still have to remain professional. I can't start swearing back at them, otherwise I'd lose my job. Fortunately, I have the option of ending a conversation with someone who is irate by either asking them to leave my office or asking them to call back when they have calmed down & then hanging up the phone. But as a 911 operator, you don't have that luxury. All calls are to be treated as emergencies, regardless of what kind of language the person on the other end is using. If he had had any sense, he would've known that. And also would've know that there are plenty of better ways to difuse a tense situation that don't involve agitating the person even more. A simple "Okay ma'am, I need to you to please calm down & state your emergency" would've sufficed. But instead he decided to make a bad situation worse by appointing himself the fucking morality police. He should be glad that her father didn't die as a result of his unprofessionalism. He'd have more to worry about that being suspended for 2 weeks without pay.
You do not hang up on a 911 call, end of argument. What if she were cursing his ass out in Spanish, would he hang up then? Would the emergency be any less serious no matter what type of language she used? I think not. I hope a good attorney sues the pants off of officer asshole and send a loud and clear message to these morons.

Cops in these little towns never get much punishment, regardless of what they do. Case in point:
I live in a small town in Kentucky, & we had to police officers arrested & brought up on federal charges of possession of hydrocodone without a prescription & threatening a witness (they had the dumb motherfucker on tape threatening a man's life who was wearing a wire). While they were in jail awaiting trial, they were still allowed to be employed by the police department & receive their paychecks. WTF?! I mean sure, it's innocent until proven guilty, but I would think that having an officer on tape threatening a citizen would be enough for him to lose his job. But apparently not. Now they're taking plea bargains & will most likely be allowed to simply "resign" from the police force:

Then there's our wonderful jailer, who was arrested on sex abuse charges. He ended up taking an alford plea, part of which stated that he is not allowed to have any contact with the female employees that were defendants in the case & that he is not to be physically present on the jail property. So what does he do? He decides that he's just going to purchase an office elsewhere & run the jail from there, & is not citing all kinds of different legal reasons why he is still allowed to run the jail & collect his $85,000 a year paycheck:

There is no excuse for the cops behaviour.
If someone is abusing 911 or abusing the police there are appropriate ways to deal with it. Denying someone medical care is not one of them.
