What The Hell Kind Of GD Outfits Are These?
The band members of No Doubt took a quick break from their jobs as orderlies at a local mental hospital to reunite with Gwen Stefani and perform on Today this morning. Seriously, why do they have to look like they serve tapioca pudding all day while Gwen gets to wear an outfit taken from my childhood closet (I was behind the times).
Actually, scratch that. My pants didn't look that good, but I tried! My mom wouldn't let me bleach my jeans, so I had to make do with some black pants I got on sale at May Company. I twisted them into a ball and let them sit in a bucket of bleach for a few minutes. When I pulled them out and dried them off, they looked like a rust-covered rag found in a junk yard. That didn't bother me, I still wore 'em like they cost something. Oh, the days where you just didn't give a fuck.
Anyway, back to No Doubt. So, in case you haven't heard, they are back (along with Gwen's anime donut hair). They performed a few songs on Today this morning. Click here to watch if you care.
I kind of got the feeling that Gwen was only doing this so the other band members would stop burning her voicemail up with whines about how they have mortgages to pay and shit. That being said, it still made me happy. OLD, but happy.

One word comes to mind - pathetic. They were terrible/not relevant 13 years ago. At least she managed to parlay her fame into something of a career........the rest just want to recapture some attention and revive their lame band. And yes I do think mid-30s or over is too old to be running around in gear that you wore when you were 20. Grow up and get a real job.

No Doubt was the first band I ever saw when I was 11, just after Tragic Kingdom was released, Gwen was my idol!
I'm half-Indian and I have bleached hair, but my skin is really pale.
Another obvious attempt to make even more money from their brand of stupid mainstream pseudo-punk pop rock. It really turns my stomach to think this tacky shit actually sells. I don't think I bought any of their albums since I was 15 or 16 (And I think it was only 1 of them). Yep that's the about the target age of their appeal to the population. That and early 30s girly girls who still like Gwen in her "Just A Girl" glory. Even I sorta dug it for a few months...until I discovered Depeche Mode and The Pixies.
I would rather count the wrinkles on my dog's balls than sit on a jury.
I always thought Gwen was a marginal talent who just was bolstered by her looks. But damn, she does look great and her skin is beautiful. Hate the dumb ass hair.

I've never liked No Doubt or Gwen with her gummy smile, tacky clothes, and kiddie hair do. IMO No Doubt's lyrics are suited to pre-teens and to hear someone over the age of 20 sing them is laughable. However, Gwen has managed to make a lot of money from her ridiculous music and her tacky clothing and shoe lines. Sheesh, Americans will buy anything.

I'm Indian, and I couldn't agree more. My mother was looking at pictures of a female family member she's never met and commented to me, "I don't know why, but I get the impression she's kind of off mentally. Like she's slow." I looked at the photo, and I swear to you it was the bleached hair she had. It made her look crazy. No way a dark Indian would have blond hair. Maybe if they were fair skinned mountain folk, but not regular Indian. I pointed that out to my mom, and she couldn't agree more. Really, bleached hair makes Indians look insane and Tony Kanal is simply exhibit A.
Oh dear...perhaps a little more practice is needed? Reminds me of when NKOTB came back. The anticipation was high, the subsequent letdown was huge.

Actually, the first time I saw No Doubt was long before they were known. I saw them live and the thing that really grabbed me was the power of Gwen's voice. I think all the fruity-tooty stuff she's been doing over the years has weakened her...

I recorded this out of curiosity and found it cringe worthy. She sounded horrible, and they all looked ridiculous. The whole Lipstick-Punk-Princess act is plaaaaayed the fuck out.
