R.I.P. Danny Gans
Here's some sad news that came out of nowhere. Danny Gans, a Las Vegas legend, passed away early this morning at his home in Las Vegas. TMZ says Danny was discovered by his wife at around 3 this morning. A family member called for an ambulance and told the 911 operator that Danny was having trouble breathing. When they arrived, Danny had already died. He was only 57. Danny's cause of death is unknown at this time.
If you've been to Las Vegas, then you most likely know Danny Gans. If you haven't seen his show, then you've seen his ads everywhere around Vegas. Danny has been called "The Man of Many Voices," because of his gift for performing musical impressions. Danny was headlining a show at the Encore Wynn at the time of his death. He was also in Bull Durham and played a Wayne Newton impersonator in an episode of Roseanne.
He is survived by his wife and their three children.

I was always so annoyed by all the Danny Gans signs in Vegas whenever I went there...I wonder what caused his death...Poor guy. This is so sad even if he wasnt such a great entertainer...At least his family will be very well taken care of the rest of their lives, unfortunately without him.
Sad news, but is there such a thing as Vegas legend? Isn't that like saying "Cruise Ship Hall of Fame inductee"? Sorry, that's mean!

Never heard of him but RIP

Love many. Trust few. Always paddle your own canoe.
Wow, he looked much younger.
This is sad news. I saw him at the Mirage and he was amazing. I liked him even in Bull Durham.
So sad...

Vagina: apparently it is a clown car.
He was 53, not 57- makes it more tragic. I live in Vegas, he was pretty much the shit.
Wow surprised at a lot of the heartless comments here about Danny.
He was a really good man and did alot ofr the Las Vegas Valley. He helped kids stay out of gangs. Provided money and golf clubs to teach kids golf. he had a tremendously generous heart.
He was not one of those hypocrytical christian men who say one thing and do another but really lived his life to a higher standard.
My heart goes out to his wife and three children.I can't imagine how painful this loss is to them.
Danny Gans was phenomenal .. I watched this man do George Burns, Johnny Carson, Anita Bakere, Michael Jackson.
Moved to tears by his Forrest Gump impression.
He will be very missed here in Las Vegas.
I hope this plays out during a future episode of "Snapped."

Not to be mean to someone who has recently died...but I remember him being AWFUL as Wayne Newton on Roseanne and I am stunned to discover that he's a "legend" at impersonations! I thought for sure he was just a random ass guy they paid 50 bucks to to film a quick scene. Seriously, he was bad!

COME AT ME, BITCH!

I saw his show... I was definitely one of the youngest people in the audience. I thought for sure I wasn't going to like it. But, after awhile, you just had to sit back, and laugh. He was paid 150 million for a 10 year contract - so you know those tickets weren't cheap!
DAMN, if this guy dying isn't an invitation to that born-to-prance-and-dance!!! in Vegas custom made act-ADAM LAMBERT, I don't know what. It's heaven sent. "Encore Wynn" Adam, girlfriend. Not exactly "Circus Circus" or the low-rent section of LV.
Sorry to hear that.
So are they finally gonna take down all those billboards you see on the ride to Vegas?
I thought he died (killed himself) last year!
Who am I thinking of, then?
Wow! He was a Vegas legend.
Wife? Really??

Out. For A. Walk. Bitch.
Sad, but I agree with the other poster who talked about his act appealing to 55+. I saw him on the View a while back (or one of those Daytime shows) and it was so bad, it was embarrassing. Probably why he was a Vegas legend.
Sad nevertheless to lose someone that young.
P.S. It's not really a curse of the Mirage like Seigfried and Roy, because I think Danny Gans had left the Mirage a few years back. But still, it's kind of connected.
Due to so many people hyping his show, I was duped into going to see him the first time I ever went to Vegas, back in 2004. It was a truly awful show. It definitely was only meant to appeal to people 55+. Just corny impressions, bad jokes, etc.
Even though I hated his show and I want those two hours of my life back, I'm sorry to hear about his passing. Rest in peace.
Well that's just really sad. I saw him in Vegas years ago and he was awesome. Prayers for the wife and kids.
Sad news! Oh no. OH NO!! I have been a fan of Danny Gans for years!! We were going to see him in Vegas in the upcoming year! He was so talented.
Thanks so much for posting this M.K. My heartfelt condolensces to the Gans family & friends. May he R.I.P.
It's not fair. Dane Cook still roams the earth.

that is so sad.
rest in peace.
ps: so he's gone, but pieces of trash like OJ and that crazy lady huckabee are still around. it makes no sense to me.
I've been to Vegas several times and never heard of him. RIP
Holy crap! what the hell with the Mirage? That place has the black mark of Montecore.
RIP Danny, Vegas lost a nice one.

If we weren't all crazy, we would go insane.
That is sad. Rest in peace.

Not sure who he was but I've definitely heard the name. RIP.
His wife found him at 3 a.m.? Where? Not in bed?
Anyway, Gosh, that's young.
Gans means goose...Shnaak shnaak.
Will try to find the Roseanne bit with him :)
this is pretty sad considering how young he was, but i remember seeing him when he was at the mirage still a few years ago, and he seemed coked out of his mind and he sounded way off with most of the celebs he was trying to impersonate, he really only sounded like 3 of them, i wonder if that had anything to do with it
RIP :(

I took my parents to see Gans for their anniversary years ago. They LOVED him. He's a legend in Vegas, for sure. Shocking that he passed so young. RIP, Danny.
Wow.He looked the picture of health last time I saw him.I'm sure Steve paid hefty stamps to put him in Encore.Condolences to the family.
Not quite the same icon as Wayne Newton, but sad nonetheless.
~*~Hello, my baby! Hello, my honey! Hello, my ragtime gal....~*~
WHAT THE FUCK!!!!
Vegas without the massive Danny Gans billboard announcing him as entertainer of the year for the last 10 years is just not Vegas!
Will he be buried in his beloved black t-shirt?
Wow! That is sad! 57 is waaaay too young.
