Even though she has a kitchen strainer over her face, Drew Barrymore still looked hot at the premiere of Grey Gardens last night in New York. Drew totally ransacked the costume closet to put this shit together, but she gets a lispy kiss for a job well done. However, I must say that I already conquered this look aaaaaages ago.
Let's travel back to Halloween a few years ago. For some reason (*cough*too much Ecstasy*cough*), I thought it was a hot idea to dress up in drag as a blonde dominatrix from the 20s. We went to several clubs that night and despite the fact that my peen passed out from being squeezed into tight panties, there weren't any major issues. Well, I shouldn't say ANY. My stupid ass bitch of a cousin decided to kill my thunder by ripping off my wig off while I was busting it to an old Crystal Waters song. Besides that, everything went according to plan until we got home.
They all went inside to pass out in their own vomit, but I stupidly stayed in the front yard to get some air hoping it would stop the drunk barfs from coming. Yeah, well "getting some air" lasted fucking hours, because I passed out with my face smashed into a chain link fence. I'm sure I looked just like the picture above! Well, except my wig was on the grass, cigarette ash was smeared on my face, one of my eyelashes was stuck on my nose and the putty I used to cover up my eyebrows had gotten in my eye. The chain link marks didn't go away for hours! My finest moment.

Most of the Barrymore connections died out with the studio system. Her father was also an actor but never could make anything of himself. Poor little Drew didn't really bankoff those connections because there were none to bankoff. By the time she became an actress (80's) the studios were run by big companies like Sony and MCA. I doubt Lew Wasserman (the last great studio head) cared about the Barrymore name.

Besides the fact that I dont find her "talented" beyond a standard romantic comedy actress (anyone remotely cutesy can pull off that crap) I have to REALLY disagree on the second part...Family connections like these Hollywood make all the difference:

Holy fuck YES! I thought it was just me! I know a few and they seem so fucking tragic- middle aged women with fake high voices and overwrought makeup, etc and they end up looking OLDER when they want to look younger. And I'm not some teenager slagging off on older women I think that the affected voice is just... UGH!

I love Drew Barrymore. She produced Donnie Darko!! I remember when she worked at a local coffee house (remember those) when she was young and flat broke. I was once waiting to cross the street when I looked at this chick standing next to me. I was surprised at how blah she is in person... really really blah.. oh well make up does wonders.

I have never seen her appeal physically & her personality is grating, that cheerful, hippy dippy, bimbo crap just annoys the fuck out of me. I will say that her stylist or her or whoever usually gets it right though clothing wise & I do like the way she dresses most of the time.

One of my very biggest pet peeves is when adult women act like little girls. There is NOTHING cute about a woman (especially over the age of 30) acting coy and cutesy, acting silly and giggling.

I think Drew looks fabulous and Jessica Lange is so beautiful and graceful, she's aged very well (HA, please stay away from the surgeons). Love her though, an A+ Actress in every sense of the word.

Poor Jessica Lange. What the hell was she thinking? A friend of mine saw her in a Western recently and said her face couldn't even move anymore. She was so talented. What a waste. These women need to look to Charlotte Rampling, Jeanne Moreau, and Helen Mirren to see how to age gracefully. Even if those ladies had work done, it was done well. Hell, Jeanne Moreau hasn't had any work done and I still think she looks awesome.
