The cops have a tendency to treat victims like perps and that SUCKS. the ex (white) had scratches- hell yes I tried to fight back- where i am a dark african american and don't bruise, so i just had a lot of swelling they weren't interested in seeing... and since I was hysterical (I was running down the street barefoot when the cops came) they took his side. :( SIGH. the vast majority of woman find themselves in a volitale relationship at one time or another in their lives. Most it happens at a young age, teens, early twenties, when they are lacking self esteem, trying to be something their signifigant other wants them to be.

Thanks to people posting who are sensitive about the subject and are empathetic, sympathetic and caring.

Like I said - it is odd being serious on this site which I usually use to joke around and be silly with most of you guys... I know that's how most of us are but today -- most of the regs have shown that we do have a heart, especially when it comes to women being abused.

I've grown a lot in 15 years but my first boyfriend was charming, then slowly told me he didn;t like my friends... then my family.. slowly isolating me. And played on the self esteem (lacking back then.. fucking youth..) and BAM! One day he is following me to work, on errands- a neighbor told me when i left our apartment he would see him do it.. stealh but he did. Then the accusations.. said I was cheating (nope. I would leave before it came to that) and it was over the top. Then I would wear something cute (never dressed too over the top- like a cute camisole heels and jeans he would call 'slutt' all of a sudden) Then it culminated in him holding me down (I almost couldn't breath) for @ 5 hours yelling at me and crying and then hit me once (black eye) so I grabbed a heavy ceramic thing n his table and whacked him so I could run. I did not come back until I had my 2 friends (one a martial arts teacher and another a scary motherfucker from Jersey who is Italian and knows some career criminals..ahhh) and got my stuff anf left. Cut all contact and he tried to contact me via friends and famly (got their numbers off our phone bill). Thing is now he seems normal- has 2 kids and married for last 6 years .My best friend saw a write up on him and his work in the paper and told me recently. I'm shocked but I hope he is not still hitting women.

I WISH I pressed charges so he could have a record but I was young, scared and did not. I was scared of retaliation -still I wanted it over. So it was. I am glad it all happened b/c I know it won't again. I had one person I dated before marriage who showed classic abuser signs (to me I caught it early- my friends thought me nuts to dump him- he looked good on the outside) and I learned how to spot the fuckers.

Seeing this girl's picture dregs up soem ugly memories but I hope this can help show the face of domestic violence and bring this topic out in the open and make people aware. And I hope Rhianna heals and never, ever goes back to him.

PSS- i also learned the ex was the one cheating..and that's wy he was suspicious of me all fo a sudden. No idea how that works or what logic that is but apparently that is not an uncommon pattern.
