There's A Picture.....
It was only a matter of time, but TMZ got a hold of the picture of RiRi after she allegedly got the beat down from Chris Brown. And it looks like it was a major beat down. I put it behind a cut, because it's obviously not ice cream and rainbows. It's pretty fucking awful and heartbreaking. I really have no words for this. Click here to see it.

The reason why it doesn't seem to look that bad, as you say, is because the police took this picture of her injuries within the hour she'd sustained them, therefore her face hadn't had the time yet to swell and blacken up, as it undoubtedly did a few hours after this photograph was snapped.

I know; I know 'cause I got a terrible beating from my first boyfriend and the cops came around and photographed my face and body, too, but I didn't look as gruesomely bad in those police photos as I ended up looking a couple of hours after I'd been beaten up, after the cops had taken the photographs, after I'd gotten home from the hospital.
Trust & believe, Rihanna doubtless looked (and felt) a thousand times worse and more extremely fucked up a little while after this photo was taken, after the swelling and the colouration of the bruises started popping up. She probably won't lose all that bruising for another week or so, at least.
That disgusting little toad truly fucked her up, and look how heartbroken and sad she looks in this picture, too! He fucked her UP, body and spirit. I hope, hope, HOPE he doesn't slide out of these charges, like so many celebrities seem to do these days. It's so strange b/c my first internship was taking reports from (mostly) women who were seeking non-molestation orders (do you call them protective orders?) and going to court etc. We had two women killed who we had gotten orders for and always said it's just a piece of paper-not bullet proof. I guess having done it for other people, I really don't think the law can do much. You've got to work this shit out yourself, so I just let him look. Seriously though, why the hell hasn't he gotten bored as? I mean really, I work, I go to the gym, I walk the dog, I have dinner with the hus-boss. What's there to see? Even when I go overseas he seems to know it. Doesn't call when I'm gone. I'm suprised he hasn't shown up in Paris or something.
I couldn't ever take him down. He's 6'2 and I'm 5'2. I don't even think I could reach his face with a can of mace if I needed it. I'd spray it and it would end up just coming back down on me.

Exactly bam. I totally understand that. Plus I have been witness many times to women who emasculate their men, talk shit about their man in front of friends...it's not just men who use verbal abuse. There can be a cycle of abuse from both partners and both take it and dish it. Seeing this girl's face I have no doubt this is not the first time he hit her and I also have a feeling she has done her fair share to him, physical or not. It is all abuse and all wrong. And unfortunately, a fact of life. Rarely does a woman get beat up just out of the blue. When it escalate to this point, it has been out of control for a LONG time, probably on both sides. There is no excuse for hitting. Or verbal abuse/mental cruelty. Yet it happens every day.

bambam was trying to say CB and Ri Ri had abusive childhoods so that caused them to find eachother and be abusive. I honestly think that is a false assumption we've been making for many years now. And it is a dangerous assumption that offers no understanding of the situation at hand. There are countless numbers of people who grow up in abusive homes and become respectful adults that do not exhibit abusive behavior. There are also tons of kids who grow up in nurturing, caring homes who become abusive bastards.
bambam was also saying that because Ri Ri did some stupid interview where she talked about fighting with her brothers when they were kids, that that means she probably carries that behavior to her relationship. Once again, to that I simply say show me a photo of CB with a busted in face and I'll entertain that twisted argument.

Zac-I've got a stalker. I don't know why it doesn't bother me. He's been after me 7 or 8 years and I've been married for six of those, so he watches me with my husband now. I don't even keep track of how long it's been exactly. I guess I should get mad, but I just feel sorry for the guy. Other than constantly showing up at the places I'm at, driving by the house, and phoning at midnight, he doesn't bother me much. Mostly I just find it really boring. I guess sometimes I'm amazed at how good he is at finding me-like when I'm in yoga class and he's sitting outside on the stair stepper watching me through the glass. He's joined my gym, hangs out in a coffee shop down the street, etc. I always just think damn, he puts a lot of time into this. I seriously don't understand why the dude hasn't gotten bored and gone away.
Zac-I am wondering about your take on this. He's a lawyer. I guess I should go do something, but I think it would ruin his career somehow. Or be a mark against him. I guess to some people it seems weak, but I just can't be bothered with him honestly. Like if I start going to court or something, I'm feeding it.
So what if Ri Ri called him every name in the book? I'll go even as far to say, even if she did hit him a few times, he should have ran the fuck away and not hit her. You know why? There are all kinds of reasons/excuses/whatever but it came down to choice, he made a REALLY shitty choice. Do you see what I'm saying? Trying to understand the dynamics of abuse is not excusing it. It is studying & trying to understand so that this shit DOES NOT HAPPEN ANYMORE. Learning the how & why of things does help in prevention.
