RiRi Did It First
Lily Allen twittered about her new RiRi-certified finger tattoo that she got last night. Yeah, I don't know if she was paying homage to Princess RiRi of the Universe of if she thought she was being clever? This is definitely filed under "Stupid crap you might do when you're on the bad shit." It's in Lily's eyes.
If she got a "for banging only" tattoo on that finger, I might be into it, but this right here is not doing it for me.
And why do I really want to stick that "shhh" finger up her nose in the picture above. It kind of wants to go in.

Yeah - that's why her friend's a kind of "open conservative". It became an insult at her school...You're Gay! You're a Lezzie! - like that. They don't even know what they're talking about - that's someone else's fucked up family passing it along at SCHOOL - right there.(Her own mom has gay friends but "reserves judgement" and her dad doesn't care) and we had a good long discussion about it when she told me but she never really got over the stigma. Nice, huh? As she enters into her adolescence. I mean, what if she IS gay? I get huffy about that kinda thing.
At my kid's school both the kids and the parents would have met to discuss it and decide how much we needed to do about it - not punishment...but programming to avoid it happening again. But at a regular school? They don't even notice.

Yeah - if mine was a teen, maybe...but I catch her singing it, blindly. She loves music so she can just sing songs cuz she likes the music and not even THINK about what she's saying...
she knows lots of gay people, they don't offend her in person at all.

that's great. kids seem to be born that way - open to all people. then they learn hatred from elders/society. my niece's grandmother (on the other side of the family) is a conservative old bitch who is vocally anti-gay and anti-abortion/birth control. that GD old witch! i try to offer my niece information and compassionate views to balance the crap she hears... also, lot of teens that i know are really anti-gay, which is heart breaking.
the leading cause of death for gay teenagers is suicide :(

We've all talked about it, some (she, her bestie and myself), her friend's pretty conservative - I tease her that her cat is gay (HE IS!) and she doesn't like that - but she knows lots of gay people, they don't offend her in person at all. My daughter is more: whatever. She doesn't care.

Um, I'm not into tattoos mainly because I change my mind way too often. I think tattoos are like piercings, many people have at least one of the two or both. All have a reason why they choose a particular design and many many people will have if not the same tattoo, the same theme. It's really hard to find an "original" design and keep it private. At one point, skulls or roses were the shit. Then the faeries, hello kitty or a picture of someone. Flames, tribal designs, stars, words, kanji stuff, dragons... I can keep on going. The quote "you are as special as everyone else" applies perfectly.
Anyway, back to Lilly Allen. I don't give a special rat's behind about her or her "Shhh..." tattoo, but she should follow her own advice. Maybe she did it to remind herself what she should do every time she feels the need to open her trap. She should've tattooed "STFU and go back to your Jack Daniels bottle" in the forehead instead.
