What a strange, sad/happy memory seeing Mikhail B. brought up.
I used to have a taping of the version of "The Nutcracker" that he was in, taped off of PBS. My girlfriends and I would watch this over and over in high school (I graduated in 1988, just to give you an idea of how long ago we're talking).
I drove a land-barge of a Chrysler my junior and senior year. I frequently gave one of those friends a ride to and from school and band practice, because she didn't have a car.
When my car wouldn't start, my friend would sweet-talk it by promising it that we would get Mikhail to dance ballet on its roof. I guess my Chrysler was female or gay; I didn't start naming my cars until years later.
She was one of my smartest and funniest friends. She married a pervy high school coach and we dropped out of touch. Sigh.
Mikhail still looks good, though. And dancers can correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that bulge a dance belt? Kind of like a padded cup thingie that male dancers wear. I guess it's supposed to keep their bits from injury, but it has the added effect of making them look freakishly hung.
P.S. I could never understand why male ballet dancers are perceived as sissies. Look at the MUSCLES on Mr. B!

Mikhail Baryshnikov was awesome in the movie "White Nights" with Gregory Hines and Issabella Rosselina. If you've never seen it, go rent it. It is awesome. Also, many woman claim that he is packing a huge wang so that picture is probably accurate!
