At least I was respectful and didn't call him the First Pussy! Besides, we all know who the real First Pussy is. Stop! Now is not the time for my fuckery. We must mourn the passing of the second greatest member of the Bush family (Barney is the first, sorry).
The White House website says that the Bush's 18-year-old cat India passed away yesterday at home. India was given to Barbara when she was 9. India stayed with George and Laura when Barbara went off to college.
The family also called India "Willie" and "Kitty." Okay, she must have died from confusion, because they kept calling her ass all these different names! I'm joking again and now is not the time. I'll stop. But seriously, you know that evil Barney has something to do with this!
Rest in peace, India/Willie/Kitty......

Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before.
Today I had to put my 19 year old cat to sleep. His health had been fading the last couple of months. The way he looked at me, and the fact he peed on me for the very first time, I knew it was time.
The Vet told me his kidneys were failing and I did the right thing.
I still cried.
I had a cat that looked just like that cat. Her name was Sheba though. RIP

Ok, I'm a devoted dog person, who recently lost a beloved dog of almost 11 years..I've never really liked cats much but my kids are kinda keen...can I turn from dog person to cat person???
I think so. I've always been a dog person, but I adopted two kittens from the Humane Society three years ago (believe it or not, they were bogo) and have loved them ever since. I got cats mainly because I rent and dogs are not allowed,but I'm glad I got them. Cats are funny animals and it might be good for you to get a cat so that it doesn't feel as if you're replacing your previous pet. I think they are more low maintenance than dogs.
Makes me think of my cat Weazel. I had him for 15 years. He was black with one eye. I was a wreck when I lost him.

my kitty is being extra quiet for a change, sleeping somewhere. usually she's all in my face needing attention. her is the sweetest kitty evah! (and it is so fucking annoying sometimes LOL) She is 10 now and acts like she is still a young kitty! she is always purring and happy to be petted.
If their kitteh was like that I know they will truly miss her!

I have a new fondness for cats since there was a mother and her baby in the yard. I started feeding them in the summer. The mother disappeared but the baby comes when I whistle for him. He meows at me and purrs and let me pet him today. YAY! I was so excited! He's a little black and white Tuxedo cat. He's so cute.
Pets are nicer than people.

LOL!!! Max has been litter trained since he was neutered at 5 months. Never had an accident. He was about 2 yrs old when I FINALY took a vacation for a week, so my brother and SIL took him. When I say took him, I mean, took him everywhere. If they were going to be gone for more than 4 hours, Max and his litter box went.
I picked my wonderful little bunny up, took him home and sat down on the couch to chill. Maximus jumped up on the couch next to me and pissed right there. Duly noted!

Damn... that's an OLD cat!
I had to put my cat to sleep on Nov 3rd and it was AWFUL. She was only 9, but had cancer. It was heartbreaking. Growing up, my mother did NOT like animals, so, as soon as I moved out on my own, I got her. Because I was living in an apartment at the time, no dogs, so I had to get a cat...and she wormed her way into my heart..and what a LOVE!

(I also called my cat, things other than her name.. like Kitty... "Where's the QUEEN?" And she would ALWAYS come running! lol)
Hey, all of my kitties have names that have nothing to do with their real names. RIP pretty India.
