John Travolta's 16-Year-Old Son Has Died
I am a zillion light years late with this, but I was traveling back from California to NYC for most of today. I know I just disappeared. I figured I'd write a note to you bitches in the terminal, but Long Beach Airport's janky ass internet was not cooperating, so I had to nix it. But here's the story. Skip it if you've heard it a million times already.
John Travolta and Kelly Preston's 16-year-old son, Jett, died in the Bahamas while he was on vacation with his family. Jett was last seen going into the bathroom in one his family's suites at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel last night. His body wasn't discovered until 10 this morning by his caretaker, Jeff Michael Kathrein. Jeff is the blondie in the picture below and he was also caught kissing on John Travolta back in 2006.
TMZ says that the police report states Jett suffered a seizure and hit his head on the bathtub. John's attorney said his son died at the scene after attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. His attorney also said that Jett had a history of seizures.
There were rumors that Jett was Autistic, but John has always denied this and even threatened to sue over it. John said Jett had Kawasaki Syndrome, a disorder that can lead to heart disease. Kelly Preston later blamed household cleaners for all of Jett's health problems. She said one of L. Ron Hubbard's detoxification programs helped Jett.
An autopsy is being performed on Jett to find the exact cause of death.
I'll admit that when I first heard about this, the word "Scientology" came at me in big evil letters, but we won't know anything until the autopsy. When I was on the plane, the women behind me were watching this story on Larry King and totally saying all this crazy shit. People were totally giving them the side-eye. They should've wrote this post. All I know is that this sad all around and I will leave it at that.

It's ashame that this poor child was neglected in this manner. And that is what it amounts to, is neglect.
Based on one article I read, Kelly Preston wanted to pursue other modes of treatment, but Travolta was insistent on the COS way.
I couldn't imagine pretending that my child wasn't Autistic because I freak out when my daughter misses an orthodontist appointment. Those people are living in deep denial. What a shame for that poor boy.

Because it is so awful, I am trying to see how I could be wrong and CO$ has nothing to do with this poor boy’s death. But I do marvel at the sudden rush of pictures when prior to yesterday I had no idea what Jett looked like. I am going to assume the family released hitherto private photos as a tribute and not as a desparate attempt to make him look loved. Have you read about CO$ mourning rituals? Have a look at the anonymous website. So awful and scary, all it needs now is Tiny Tommy girl giving ‘comfort’- as only CO$ can of course- and I will be having nightmares for weeks.

drama - the Revolta's lawyer is trying to say that the police report is wrong and he was found "a short time" after the accident.
I call bullshit. Apparently he had a manny, who was with him 24/7, slept in the same room as him, there was a baby monitor in the room, chime on the bathroom door. Yet, Jett was "found" alone.

Never in my life have I hoped all the reasonable people I respect on d are wrong (including myself LOL) more than now. Clarisse - No, you are right. Jett wasn't publicly photographed for a LONG time. I think they didn't take him out much because they didn't want pics of him taken. Because it is CLEAR that he was autistic.

The parents should have stopped denying he had autism. It was not their son's fault he had a disease not recognized by the religion of his parents. They seemed more concerned with how their son made them look as celebrities.

Kawasaki Disease is a rare disease that is mostly diagnosed in children of Korean or Japanese heritage, though anyone can get it. It is characterized by inflammation in the mucous membranes, high fever, peeling of the skin on the hands and possibly the feet. In severe or untreated cases, it can effect the heart. Children do not have seizures with Kawasaki Disease. Most recover.
On the other hand, this child had learning disabilities and did not communicate and had seizures. These are all characteristics of Autism.
A true religion does not pretend that they are God. And a true religion is not filled with people who are equipped to diagnose illnesses. Hell, most religions are hesitant to diagnose a possession for crying out loud.
So. My question is this. What were these parents thinking?

Oh don't give me "Caylee Anthony is a prominent example". BS - that's a case that's being plastered all over the media because of how horrific it is. It is NOT a common occurence for parents to murder their children. It is even more rare for successful celebrities with every resource in the world. Parent's murdering their own children is in fact a RARE occuence and someting the media blows up because of stupid people's twisted need to be shocked and titillated. We're now told the grand mal seizures Jett suffered were "frequent and extremely serious." Travolta's lawyers, Michael Ossi and Michael McDermott, tell us "each seizure was like a death," with Jett losing consciousness and convulsing.
We now know Jett was taking a drug called Depakote, a strong anti-seizure medication. There have been reports Travolta refused to give his son anti-seizure meds because of Scientology but those stories are not true.
Jett had been having seizures on an average of every four days, until he started taking Depakote. Ossi and McDermott say the drug initially worked, reducing the frequency to approximately once every three weeks.
Jett took Depakote for "several years," but it eventually lost its effectiveness, according to Ossi and McDermott. They say the Travoltas were concerned about possible physical damage. And, Jett went back to having around one seizure a week. So Travolta and Preston, after consulting neurosurgeons, stopped administering the drug. No one is suggesting withdrawal of the medicine in any way caused the fatal episode.
This story really bothers me. Wouldn't it great though if this tragic young mans death was the downfall of Scientology? I don't know what went on in that hotel but something isn't right.

However, I do not think that Jett was murdered. I think he was neglected to death.

Apparently poor Jett was NOT on any seizure medications even though he was having "frequent and extremely serious" grand mal seizures. Sounds like he did take Depakote in the past, but the Travoltas took him off the medication because "it didn't work". (Sounds like it originally did, but it stopped working). To me, that is heart breaking. There are so many anti-convulsant medications out there that they could've tried, rather than just give up and let him suffer, and ultimately DIE. OMG, my heart just breaks for him.
There is also a 2nd story about the "Conflict Over Jett's Death". Sounds like a spin has begun. This is the first paragraph.

Caylee Anthony is one easy, prominent example, from FL. I live in LA, where, over Xmas, a guy in a Santa suit took out 9 members of his immediate family. The Jennifer Hudson murders were similar. I could go on and on. So it's horrible and hard to grasp, but it happens a lot.

It's true we don't really know what happened. We may never. But parents kill their kids all the time, so it's quite fathomable. And there is plenty of evidence about the kid's condition from seeing him over the years and how the parents treated him. It's not a formal diagnosis but it sounds like even the parents never had him diagnosed in the usual sense.
If he was diagnosed with Kawasaki's Syndrome, you'd need to look at who did the diagnosis and after what tests. In my work, I see a lot of sketchy MDs who, for a price, after a cursory review, will kinda sorta suggest that a patient has some amorphous ailment.

I still do not agree that a 16 year old needs to be checked on constantly during the night unless they are severely impaired which it does not appear he was. Again, no one has confirmed that he has any severe disability. Its all just speculation on your parts.
I do not know of anyone with a 16 year old who has never gone through a night without constant checking. The kid had a nanny with him. Haven't any of you ever hired a sitter or a nanny for the night? Give me a break.
