Butting in again. That's so true! It takes barely any more time than checking e-mail, but you get the update on everyone! With little effort or time. Sorry to butt in, but I LOVE Facebook. For years, I wondered about the love of my life who got away. Found him on Facebook with about 50 extra pounds on him, a wife and two beautiful kids. Totally cured me of the residual crush. It was weird to see him as a real person instead of this idealized version I had created in my head. It was a good thing.

And have you found yourself having to choose between people? Like, you want to be friends with X but if Y sees them as your friend, you'll get shit because X and Y hate each other?

And my mother is SO anti-smoking. Mr. Hekki still smokes, but he does it outside. My mother is convinced that we're all still getting second-hand smoke damage. She says it clings to his clothes and if you can smell it, it can damage you. I'm like "Mom, we live in New York City. Breathing the bus exhaust alone is like smoking a pack of cigarettes. I'm not worried about the SMELL of smoke on his jacket giving us cancer." And she's like "Still, (blah blah blah)"

I LOVE smoking. Yes, I gave it up, but I do miss it. If I ever find out that I have a terminal disease, the one upside is that I will feel free to take up smoking again. And if I make it to be 90 years old, I will take up smoking then, too.

It's dirty and smelly and unhealthy and expensive, but it's so wonderful.

I quit a year ago August, and i do still watch my friends smoke and wish i could have one, but i've lost the urge...and now that I know who dirty it is i can't bring myself to do it! but i cheated and actually had half of one with my Frenchie this weekend...i think the fact that i was sooo pissed helped! i slurred: "gimme a damn cig! I don't care!" and then proceeded to cough for 2 minutes, luckily i had a glass of wine to soothe the crisped throat...LOL
