The Photoshop Awards: Rachael Ray On Modern Dog
Cue the laugh track for the obvious joke you're thinking in that trash bag head of yours. I thought the same thing except my obvious joke had cameos by Jennifer Aniston and flyballs.
Rachael Ray's head is on the cover of Modern Dog's Winter issue. It looks like you could lightly blow her way and her annoying head would roll right off for Isaboo to play with. Yes, her dog's name is fucking Isaboo. I bet Isaboo hates her for that and that's why they had to Photoshop Rachael's head on someone else's body (and neck). Isaboo refused to share the cover with a truck stop, raggedy mouthed yap-beast like Rachael.
In the issue, Rachael also gives her special recipe for dog food which includes macaroni, extra virgin olive oil (I won't say it), onions, heavy cream, cheese, squash and other crap. Click here for the recipe. My dog would love this nastiness, but I wouldn't love it when I have to scrape his watery butt juice off the sidewalk.

I was going to post about her being a moron because onions are a big no-no for dogs (and cats) because they cause Hemolytic Anemia, but I see other smart peoples have covered that, so I'll just post and say she's a moron ;)
(yay for run on sentences!)

I'm not sure how good an analogy this is, but I'll offer it up anyway. I live in an area in SoCal with a lot of coyotes--large bands roam around the hills at night. I see what they eat in the wild and their scat in the morning.

And my dog ate a lot of grass. That's true. Well, not a LOT...but he ate grass.

My Aussie likes corn muffins and banana nut bread, but I won't let him use the oven anymore after that terrible liver lasagne he made last week.

I see what they eat in the wild and their scat in the morning. They will eat weeds, fruits, and berries in the wild. I also know they'll eat human garbage. So, while canines generally prefer meat and other proteins, they have no problem eating some plants.
I'm not saying onions or some of the other plants mentioned are good. I'm just saying that canines can eat some plants without ill effect. My Golden happens to like blueberry scones and Cheerios.

Onions can be really bad for your dog, as in kill him. In the spirit of the little hitler post, I'll say they're FERBOTTEN. Or FURbotten.
If she's recommending you poison your dog, makes you wonder if this bitch should have a cooking show for humans. You are probably secretly poisoning your husband and kids and won't know it until they collapse and you have to bury them in the yard. Maybe that's a good thing.
Stupid bitch! Doesn't Ray know that onions are toxic to dogs????? They are toxic to cats as well and can cause the destruction of red blood cells (hemolytic anemia): http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=1+1935&aid=2414

To be honest I don't even like to see pets eat most pet foods...never mind creamy sauces and pasta! UGH! There is a massive amount of cancer among domesticated animals and I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with them eating massive amounts of processed cornmeal over the course of their lives. I never knew onions were bad but I would NEVER try to feed my dog an onion anyhow. Mebbe a little snackie poo from mama's plate now and then but always like meat and weirdly, he really liked apples.

Dogs are NOT supposed to eat onions. It is BAD for them!
Onions ARE bad for dogs...geez...RR is proof that the apocalypse is upon us...she can't cook AND she named her dog Isaboo...that dog probably wants to attack her at the jugular and rip her no-neck from her body...! And good eyes MK, that is so NOT her body!

That recipe would give my dog the farts big time and believe me NOTHING is worse than a dog fart.
Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before.

When my dog eats onions it freaks out bigtime. He goes into shivers and near convulsions. Once I figured this out I didn't let him get any thing with onions in it. However... I had some pepperoni bread one time, and I gave my dog a chunk of it. It turned out the bread had onion powder in it and the dog had those convulsions that time too. So watch out. I have another dog, and that one can eat anything, but only gets the runs, maybe. So I guess it just depends. The bottom line is- Why take a chance?

Seriously?! Did she not have a Vet review the recipes? Did Modern Dog not have a Vet to review the recipe? RR makes me crazy. Idiot.
This one's sure to be an instant hit with vets and dog enthusiasts alike: "Onion tarte with roasted garlic accents, broccoli floret-potato skin au gratin, and chocolate-macadamia nut mole compote."
Rachal Rays "Double Double CHocolate Chip and Chicken Bone Brownies Embellsihed with Pointsettia Leaves" recipe for dogs is a real winner, from what I've heard!

I just called them and the chick who answered seemed totally clueless about the dangerousness of the recipes.
Everyone, call their asses! Mostly about the onions thing, but also about the questionable judgment in giving RR any more publicity.
File this under "Easy 30-Minute Recipes for People Who Hate Their Dogs and Want to Kill Them." Her other "recipes" for dogs on foodnetwork.com feature other no-nos for doggies (onions, broccoli, potatoes, garlic, etc).
Toxins aside, do dogs need to be eating cheese and pasta? Either way, the poisons or the obesity feeding bullshit like this to Rover will cause will eventually kill him. What a stupid, stupid woman. Actually, what about moderndog.com's responsibility? This is a site ABOUT DOGS, FOR PEOPLE WHO OWN AND SUPPOSEDLY LOVE DOGS! Ignorance all around.
And you know some idiot's going to be dumb enough to feed this to their cats, too. Not only are a lot of the same ingredients poisonous to cats, too, but cats can't live on a diet of pasta and BASICALLY ANYTHING THAT ISN'T PREDOMINANTLY MEAT! Goddamn idiots, all around.
Check out these other recipes: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food-network-specials/rachael-ray-feeds-your-...
People need to write moderndog.com and The Food Network and shut this dumb twat down.
On the other hand, maybe she's concerned with domestic animal overpopulation and is trying to knock off a whole bunch of 'em. In that case, she's a genius!

Onions are TOXIC to dogs!
Onions "contain sulfoxides and disulfides, which can damage red blood cells and cause anemia. Cats are more susceptible than dogs. Garlic is less toxic than onions." http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=2+1661&aid=1030
Uh yeah...I thought everybody knew you're not supposed to feed your dog onions, what a dumb cunt that Rachel is! When my last dog developed stomach cancer one of the questions my vet asked me was if I ever fed her anything with onions in it. Onions are a definate NO-NO!!!
Sometimes the jokes just write themselves.

******Rachel Ray, you are a dog killer!!*******
At the risk of sounding like Jenny McCarthy, I gotta chime in on this one.
I know a few other people have said it as well: DO NOT FEED YOUR DOG ONIONS! No nutmeg, grapes, nuts, or raisins either.
Here's a link to a longer list: http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=2+1661&aid=1030
Lol, I fail to see the correlation betweena dog with a sweater and whether or not you feed them dog food, but ok.
Good pet owners everywhere refrain from feeding their animals human food, regardless of geography. (A tiny bit as a special treat every once in awhile is ok. Making your dogs cheesy onion casseroles with heavy cream is retarded, regardless of the onions. Obesity is a huge healthy issue in older animals. Don't feed them liquid fat like the dumbass cunt pig, Rachael Ray, who, I'm sure, also makes grape salads and chocolate souffles for her dog. Ugh. Get this whore off the cover. As if she's any kind of exmaple.)
IS SHE FUCKING SERIOUS ABOUT FEEDING ONIONS TO DOGS?
What a stupid, stupid twat! Onions for a dog! Nice!!!
Of course everyone else beat me to it, but how the hell does Modern Dog not catch onions in a dog food recipe?
I suggest anyone who actually made the recipe sue the pants off the assholes at that magazine. That isn't "People" it's Modern Fucking Dog.

I don't know rotten egg, in NY people treat their dogs like humans. I saw a dog with a merino wool, sweater on the other day. It may as well have been holding a starbucks coffee cup and the NY times
I'm almost sure it's just me... but she seems to look less haggard than her usual fairy tale self (troll under bridge). And her dog looks eeerily like the ex-guitarist of limp bizzzzzzzkit... Eeeeerieoh.
There is a simple reason for dog food to exist and that is because it's supposed to be a balanced diet for a DOG. It sucks when people are starving or barely surviving with little food when there are shitloads of dumb people feeding their dogs normal human food. Ugh!.
P.S. That magazine name is beyond cheesy and pretentious. I mean "MODERN dog"?!. Goodness! like a fucking dog will even read it and learn tips and tricks.

Tee hee.
Jeez ..you would think someone with a brain would have caught that before they published the recipe
Nutmeg causes seizures and death in dogs!
Insanity!
What a stupid, stupid, bitch. Onions are toxic to dogs!!
Onions are toxic to dogs. The toxicity is dose dependent, so the bigger the animal, the more onion need be consumed to cause a toxicity. Onion toxicity causes a Heinz body anemia. Heinz bodies are small bubble-like projections which protrude from a red blood cell and can be seen when the cells are stained. This "bubble" is a weak spot in the red blood cell and, therefore, the cell has a decreased life-span and ruptures prematurely.
If numerous red cells are affected and rupture, anemia can result. It is a form of hemolytic anemia. Onions are only one of the substances which can cause Heinz body anemia. Other substances such as Acetominophen (Tylenol) and benzocaine-containing topical preparations can also cause Heinz body anemia in the dog.
The toxic effect of the onions are the same whether the product is raw, cooked or dehydrated. The hemolytic episode usually occurs several days after onion ingestion (lowest hematocrit around day 5 post ingestion). Daily feeding of onions could have a cumulative effect due to ongoing formation of Heinz bodies versus a single exposure with a wide gap until the next exposure, allowing the bone marrow time to regenerate the prematurely destroyed red cells.
The cat is even more susceptible. Recently, Gerber began to add onion powder to all its meat baby foods. They are labeled as "better tasting". Since baby food is often used in sick cats that are not eating (to stimulate their appetites), there was concern that the onion powder would cause a Heinz body anemia in these cats. Within a week or two of the change, there were numerous reports of Heinz body anemia in cats receiving Gerber baby food in their diets.
I strongly recommend NO ONIONS for dogs. There is no benefit and certainly the potential to cause harm.

ModernDog is a little too New Agey for me. Acupuncture for pets? Yeesh. I read OldFashionedDog.
Rachel Ray has done so much for the Pit Bull breed and for that, I admire her!
That irresponsible, loud POS said to feed a dog onions?
Typical, since she seems crazy, but what is wrong with that magazine.
For a treat for my dog, I would take her canned food (I think it was KD for seniors; I used to buy it at the veterinary teaching hospital, likewise her Science Diet kibble). Anyhootiehoo, take it from the can and slice into round pieces about 1/4" thick. Cut those into 4 pieces. Cook in a heated iron skillet sprayed with low-calorie, low sodium, butter-flavored cooking spray. Let them get crispy on one side, then flip 'em. Cook til crispy, cool, and serve.
You all beat me to it (go figure I am at work)!
Onions are very bad for dogs.
Also, some breads are sensitive to wheat, so pasta may not be a good choice.
Dumb bitch.
Is this bitch retarded?
Onions can kill dogs. Who the hell edited this article?
They should be fired.
I would hate to find out how many dogs get sick from this recipe.
