R.I.P. Bettie Page
The world has lost a true icon! Bettie Page went off to heaven today at the age of 85. Her agent, Mark Roesler, said that she passed away this evening at a hospital in Los Angeles after suffering a heart attack over a week ago which left her in a coma.
Mark wrote this message on Bettie's website:
With deep personal sadness I must announce that my dear friend and client Bettie Page passed away at 6:41pm PST this evening in a Los Angles hospital. She died peacefully but had never regained consciousness after suffering a heart attack nine days ago.She captured the imagination of a generation of men and women with her free spirit and unabashed sensuality. She is the embodiment of beauty.
Rest in peace, Bettie Page. The world is a little less beautiful and glamorous without you!

I hope she's romping naked on a beach somewhere, she loved the ocean and beach so much.
She looked like a woman SHOULD look, not like these skinny-minis today, and she was gorgeous before there was all this nip-and-tuck shit going on. Plus she always looked like she was having so much fun, whether she was doing a little goofy dance in one of her short films (we own them all of course!), lounging naked on a beach, or holding a whip.
R.I.P. Bettie! You will live on forever, you were a woman far ahead of your time!

RIP my lady. The world is a little less glamorous without you. Look at her body. It was a "real" woman's body, like Marilyn Monroe and all of those girls from the classic Hollywood era. Talk about sexy. They had curves! Curves! You know? I don't know what's going on with all of these chicks wanting to be so skinny.
This is really unfortunate.

I've never seen a picture of her older.......some of you made comments about her "rocking the bangs till she died? How do you know???
After resurfacing in the 1990s, she occasionally granted interviews but refused to allow her picture to be taken.
"I don't want to be photographed in my old age," she told an interviewer in 1998. "I feel the same way with old movie stars. ... It makes me sad. We want to remember them when they were young."
Pay attention Hollywood starlet wannabes. Bettie was a real woman. She wasn't a 95 lb anorexic/bullimic and she lived her life HER way.
I wish some of todays "hotties" would take a page from her book.

I love this pic, So natural and wholesome looking. The good ole days before airbrushing. RIP Miss Bettie.
-These shots are probably all natural but photos have alwways been tampered with since the 30's. They would shoot say, Joan Crawford without makeup on, then put a sheet of glass over the photo, paint in the makeup and cover the flaws and then reshoot the photo. A little trivia here on an early Friday morning.

This is slightly off-topic, but I think relevant.
I was just talking to my best friend today, before I knew Bettie had passed, and we were discussing Jennifer Aniston's GQ cover.
We were saying that it was pathetic, that we thought she really did have an amazing body, but that these days no one really believes the body they see on the mag covers, because of photoshop.
Someone can work hard, or just have great genetics, or combo, and another fat actress will blow them away on the next cover due to photoshop.
By the way, I like Jen and was on her side, but the GQ cover is pathetic, Marley and Me is a family movie, if she was doing The Bettie Page Story, well, okay, but no one can do Bettie Page except Bettie, and she is gone now.
