Travis Barker Is Suing Everyone
In a not-so-surprising move, Travis Barker is suing the plane and tire companies involved in the plane crash that landed him in the hospital with burns and killed two of his friends. I'm only surprised that it took him this long.
TMZ reports that Travis and the mother of his deceased bodyguard filed a lawsuit in L.A. against Bombardier Inc., Clay Lacy Aviation and Goodyear Tires.
In the lawsuit, Travis blames fucked-up equipment and the pilots for the crash. Both the pilot and the co-pilot were killed in the crash.
The suit states: "The pilots were either poorly trained and/or failed to follow their training. The pilots' decision was a breach of their duty owed to the passengers onboard and was a substantial factor in causing the crash and resultant injuries and deaths."
The suit goes on to say that the plane's "landing gear, tires, wheels, brakes, reverse thrust system, squat switches and component parts were not airworthy."
Travis, who is still recovering from his burns, is suing for "pain and suffering, mental anguish, psychological and emotional distress, disfigurement, loss of earnings capacity and medical expenses."
If those companies are at fault, then I say sue away! No, it's not going to bring his friends back, but it might prevent this shit from happening in the future to other people.

As I understand it the entire incident was a tragic accident. It was very sad for all involved and their families but it was still an accident. The tyre blew out because sometimes tyres blow out, unfortunately. Nothing and noone in this world is 100% fullproof.
I feel sorry for what happened to Travis but suing people isn't going to change what happened. Instead Travis should thank the stars that he survived. He should focus on his family and maybe helping other burns victims, etc.

Re. the lawsuit (and not just TB's general arsehole-ness), this guy already has way more fame and money than he deserves.
I use to be in aviation. The FAA says that the tires blew on landing and that is what caused the crash. He isn't suing the pilots so much as the company they worked for, who was in charge of maintaining the aircraft. They obviously didn't maintain the tires properly. The tires are one of the most important things, and as part of the pre-flight check every pilot is supposed to make sure the tires are in good condition before taking off. It is possible that the tires were in good condition (good tread, not too old) but were faulty. I think he might actually have a claim, but I pity the company anyway, because it is so very difficult to make any money in aviation these days, and they will likely be bankrupt. Still, they might have caused the death of two and they should be held accountable for that. Still, it is very difficult to prove that they didn't check the tires properly, and it is easy to forge records. I almost hope that the tires were faulty because then Goodyear has to pay, which they can afford to.
You can tell Travis Barker is a complete son-of-a-bitch just by the look in his eye. Doesn't it just make you want to slap the taste out of his mouth? Or at least have him swallow that toothpick and have it puncture some important anatomical apparatus. Wait, nothing in this guy's anatomy is important.

Ok, yes suing after an accident is pretty much mandatory now. But if it were me, I would just want them to pay my medical bills, unless they truly new it was unsafe to fly. Of course they wouldn't fly the plane if they new it had problems. But saying that the pilots purposely crashed is insane and insensitive.
That being said, Travis clearly needs the money because he has none left.

Hey, GIG! It takes about a year to get to trial in L.A. The lawyers work on percentage (often 33-40%). Most of the insurance cos will pay money to settle well before trial (if their insureds might be responsible).
I saw that the dead bodyguard's fambly is one of the plaintiffs. They might need the $$ more than Travis.

An autopsy performed on Luis Morales, the pilot of the plane that crashed last August in the Bahamas killing R&B star Aaliyah, revealed that he had cocaine and alcohol in his system at the time of the accident. The autopsy results were part of the crash investigation report filed by the Bahamas Department of Civil Aviation.
The investigation has not yet revealed how Blanes' condition might have influenced the crash. Just prior to the crash, Morales was sentenced to a three-year probation sentence for possession of crack cocaine.

As much as I agree with the general useless-ness of this douche the loss of earnings he could be claiming might have to do with rehab, hospital bills etc..but then again...Doesn't insurance cover most of that stuff anyway? Also, you'd be surprised at what some clubs pay just for people to show up. Though I wouldn't waste the money on this particular waste of space.
