Prop 8 Passed....
Look at these two precious lesbians being all smiley and married. Well, Prop 8 has come along and stomped all over their pure happiness. They're just two sad lesbians now and that is a sin! Gayelles should never be sad.
Prop 8, which re-bans gay marriage, will most likely pass. Right now 95% of the votes have been counted. 52% are for and 48% are against. There's still around 4 million absentee ballots that need to be counted, but it's probably not enough to turn things around. The state is no longer marrying the gays as of today. It's looking grim and gross.
A few of the 18,000 couples that were married will file lawsuits. Civil rights groups are also challenging the measure by asking the Supreme Court to strike it down based on the argument that you can't just take shit away from one certain group.
I don't get this shit. I'm a tax-paying dumb bitch like everyone else. I should have the right to fly to California, catch a sugar daddy on his death bed, marry him, wait a couple of months for him to kick it and then collect all his cash. Seriously, that's my lifelong goal and now a bunch of fun killers in California have stopped me from being able to achieve this!

Vadge - gays can get married. They just need to rent a church or other location and find someone who doesn't bother with anything in the Bible. No one is stopping gays at all. And if business owners and taxpayers don't want to be forced to support the gay lifestyle (with benefits and special treatment), then they should have that right as well. Fairness should be applied to everyone. If Gays want to have a civil union piece of paper, then I support that.

And which happens way more often than two gay people wanting to get married (because they are sane imo!) or homosexuality which there is no case for whatsoever anywhere in the Bible? I may have to start suing anyone who commits adultery, have him or her stripped of all future legal rights when it comes to marriage because they certainly do not honor the definition of it. I will have a good case with a Bible since adultery is even written as one of the ten commandments. I'm sure it is commanded somewhere in our constitution if I strain my eyes enough. If I am diligent, I can have everyone stripped of the right to marry in a few months. Then we won't have this fucking problem.

I could care less what people think about gay marriage in terms of it making them feel uncomfortable. What upsets me is that those people would use their discomfort to take away rights and liberties that come with legal marriage which are not always covered in civil unions/domestic partnerships.

How is it fair that two adults who work, contribute towards society, and can vote- cannot be married? That's one problem with Prop. 8. It did not contain in retroactivity language. The validity of the marriages that occurred is up-in-the-air.
The court's may decide that those marriages are valid but no same-sex marriages after November 4, 2008.

About an hour ago, I personally contacted the California Secretary of State. The woman I spoke with confirmed that PROPOSITION 8 HAS NOT BEEN CALLED. She stated that they are still counting ballots...and they will not know the results until DECEMBER 13th!
All media has announced a victory for Yes on 8! THIS IS WRONG.
Keep the pressure on the Secretary of State to count all the provisional and absentee ballots (rumored to be up to 3 or 4 million!) !
Roughly 400,000 votes separate yes from no on Prop 8 – out of 10 million votes tallied.
Based on turnout estimates reported yesterday, we expect that there are more than 3 million and possibly as many as 4 million absentee and provisional ballots yet to be counted.
Tell them that you want ALL the proposition 8 votes counted!
