Prop 8 Passed....
Look at these two precious lesbians being all smiley and married. Well, Prop 8 has come along and stomped all over their pure happiness. They're just two sad lesbians now and that is a sin! Gayelles should never be sad.
Prop 8, which re-bans gay marriage, will most likely pass. Right now 95% of the votes have been counted. 52% are for and 48% are against. There's still around 4 million absentee ballots that need to be counted, but it's probably not enough to turn things around. The state is no longer marrying the gays as of today. It's looking grim and gross.
A few of the 18,000 couples that were married will file lawsuits. Civil rights groups are also challenging the measure by asking the Supreme Court to strike it down based on the argument that you can't just take shit away from one certain group.
I don't get this shit. I'm a tax-paying dumb bitch like everyone else. I should have the right to fly to California, catch a sugar daddy on his death bed, marry him, wait a couple of months for him to kick it and then collect all his cash. Seriously, that's my lifelong goal and now a bunch of fun killers in California have stopped me from being able to achieve this!

See, here is the thing (and this is in NO way slamming first time voters), a lot of states had prop's fail because the questions on the ballots were realllly confusing. The double negative question has to go. Example: vote yes if you agree with not supporting this proposition.
So I can fully understand where maybe voters who were kind of confused could have voted the wrong way. Do you know what I mean?

Now the key word here is "crime". A crime can consist of physical harm, arsen, theft, etc...

They are two different levels. Just as Men and Women *are* different, so too is the fact that two men orm women can't conceive between themselves naturally. Rightly or wrongly, our government holds hetrosexuals in higher standing than homosexuals. Do you think that pedophiles should start marrying 10 year old boys or girls? That's sickening to me. Listen I know someone who went to jail for statutory rape of a teen. He was on SSI before he went to prison and during and now that he is out he still is receiving benefits. If a law is put into place to discriminate or ban a group of people from participating in activities that are a human's right, could that be considered a hate crime. indansfred, what about when one partner/spouse dies? They can't claim social security benefits. What about the homes they bought together years ago? The surviving partner/spouse is reassessed on their property taxes. I Cali the deceased partner/spouses half is treated like a gift. If the couple bought their home for $85K in the 70's and it's worth $500K now, guess what? The survivor pays property taxes on the new amount. Is that fair?? Why the hell should surviving gay people lose their homes because they can't afford to pay the taxes? How the hell can that be fair?
