The View: The Morning After
Elisabeth Hasslecrack put herself together this morning after exploding last night, dressed herself in mourning black, popped a few Valiums, rehearsed her speech in the mirror, adjusted the stick in her ass and then went to work.
On "The View" this morning, Hasselcrack put on a fake face and said she would support Obama as our new president. I could almost hear the chorus of screams coming out of her ears.
Don't worry. This bitch will be back to her old whining tricks tomorrow.
After Hasslecrack spoke out of her ass and fisted everyone around the table, Sherri Shepherd gave her thoughts. Sherri usually makes my eyelashes fall out, but I felt something tingly in my dead heart when listening to her talk. I even felt something watery coming out of my eyes. I don't like that feeling, so I had to rewind to watch Hasselcrack again, so that my dead heart could return to its charcoal state.

Oh Sherri, you'll always have limitations to me.
I think that Sherri knows that her son has limitations. But if he continues to reach for milestones higher than what is expected, that he will achieve more through the process of trying and learning.
Obama being elected is similar for African-Americans, because even though not everyone is capable of being President, just knowing that it is a possibility for someone of your race allows you to reach higher than you might have done otherwise. So please don’t negate Sherri’s expectations for her child.

It's nice that Sherri wants more for her special needs child and tries to encourage him, but she needs to accept that there will always be limitations for him. Unfortunately, that is just the way it is. The president (black or white) is not going to make a difference in Sherri's child's life. I don't want to sound crass, but politicians don't care if your kid is disabled, special needs, etc. They will say a LOT of bullshit to get elected. ALL of them.

I've got to say - I was touched by all of it , even Hasslehack. I sure as hell didn't support Bush during his terms in office, but I do have some respect for people that feel that they should do so as Americans. I don't agree with it, I believe that dissent is very much American AND democratic, but there is something honourable about her stance.

This topic always gets me riled up. Personally, I don't think I could ever do it. I've had an "unplanned" pregnancy... and I really only saw one choice and that was to go through with the pregnancy.
But I was so grateful that I had that choice. That my options weren't limited. I was grateful that if I had chosen to terminate that pregnancy, I had places I could go that would treat the situation with respect and privacy. I didn't have to go to a back alley with some guy in a Doctor's costume and a clothes hanger. Because it's my body. And even though abortion was not the right choice for me, I would never tell another woman what they should've done in that situation.
That's the beauty of freedom of choice. People spend way too much time trying to figure out how they can tell other people what to do with their life.

Yes, we need to be nurturing and encouraging, but I always tell my kids 'you can't win every time'. Life is HARD and if you let them think they're going to win everything, they're going to be some bitter, unhappy adults.

Thanks ladies -- I appreciate the support and I shared that story just to say -- it really is such an individual thing and a choice that every woman has to make for her circumstances. There are so many complicated reasons why a woman would make that decision and it really should be hers. I'm not proud of having aborted a child. Its not something that I stick my chest out about, but I am proud to have survived that situation and that I was strong enough to make that decision given all that I was up against and that I went on to finish my degree and live a happy, well-adjusted life with a man who will make a wonderful father to the children we plan to have.
