Obama's Grandmother Has Passed Away
Obama's memaw, Madelyn Dunham, died today in Hawaii after a battle with cancer. Obama's family issued this statement: "She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility. She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure."
Just a day before the election...... Sadness.

Yeah, scares the hell out of me, too. Some pundit was saying Obama was like JFK for this generation; he represents hope and had similar ideals and is full of the same enthusiasm, etc. I can see that.. but look what happened to JFK. Our government is so corrupt most of us do not know the extent.
My friend talks about the Bilderberg group and thinks the financial elite basically decide who will win (i.e. the elections are more or less rigged) It's really depressing so I tell him to shut it when he gets into the conspiracy stuff. Agh. Just prayers all go smoothly on election day and all of us start heading in the right direction b/c lord knows things are a mess for most people I know. The economy is straining everyone and morale in general is really low.
Obama cancelled a rally here in Madison, Wisconsin on October 23rd so that he could visit with his ailing grandmother. While I was so sad to miss the opportunity to see this great man in person, I am glad he was able to see his grandmother a last time.
I'm sure his grandmother was very proud of him and all of his great accomplishments. I hope she is able to look down on him as he becomes the next President of the United States.
GO OBAMA!!!
Betcha if he gets elected, he'll have all such pictures of him with AIIIIIIEEEEEE white relatives destroyed.
moomarse, here's a novel thought -- what if Obama's just as much of a fuckup as the people from the last eight years? Shocking concept, I know -- sometimes there's no "good side" or "bad side," just a pair of bad sides. This is one of those scenarios.
The only reason anybody thinks Obama is worth Kate Winslet's butt nuggets is because Bush fucked up so badly. Obama's whole campaign is based on, "I'm going to change things to goodness and light and prancing unicorns!"
Not that he will -- he's a politician, and therefore a huge liar who promises more than he can ever give. The fact that anyone thinks he's telling the truth and that his election will automatically usher in a new golden age of prosperity shows how stupid and naive people are.
Damn...I was hoping she could hold on long enough to see her grandson get elected. Well, she will be watching from on high.

I HOPE he wins! I heard some news story on the radio about the thousands of troops who vote and the difficulty of that for them- isn't it too easy for those to get LOST on the way here? And I heard that those votes will not be used unless it is a close call and they 'need' to use them. If that is true that is very fucked up (and unfair). Christ, the people fighting and sacrificing so much for us deserve the right to be heard. Disgraceful.
