The Wino Just Needed A Quick Crack Break
The Crackie of Camden checked out of the hospital on Friday where she was being treated for a "chest infection." Well, after spending the weekend at her crack den, she's back in THE CLINIC! Wino's spokeswhore said she clocked back into the hospital today for ongoing treatment.
Wino just needed to go home and "stock up" before spending the rest of the week in the hospital. She's like a crackie chipmunk. Crackmunk!
A source tells People that Wino is trying to quit smoking fags and getting a little help for it. "She has been told to give up smoking and was initially struggling with that – she was covered in nicotine patches at one point. But she is making an effort."
Nicotine patches won't work on her! The second they touch her skin, they shrivel up and fall off. Good luck to Wino! But you know the cigarette industry is going caca in their panties this morning at the thought of Wino quitting fags!
God I hope she keeps getting help and gives her body the chance to recover. Go Amy!

Probably got her appetite back and she indulged herself with some gross British food. That shit is so fattening, I gained like 15 lbs while I lived in London and that totally sucked! she's on the meds to stop the sickness. a benzo for the alcohol and Subutex for the heroin withdrawal. she looked like death by the end of summer.
Sadly, I'm sure it is just a speed bump for her.
And I know it's not funny, but I laughed imagining her all patched up... made me think of an epi of AbFab, when Patsy tried to use some nicotine patches to endure a ciggie free cab ride ;)

and yes totally, that shit is yours for a lifetime... no matter what you do or dont do about it...
and jiggywiddit, honestly what made me really get off the shit was a few years prison sentace hanging over my head... my mother went to the judge and begged him to let me do treatment and probation, or choose the 4 year prison sentance. I did NOT want to get locked up for 4 years. My probation was also super strict once I got out of treatment. So for several years, the threat of getitng put away was real enough, and enough of a deterrant for me. After about a year of absitinence and all the loads of recovery and education you get during that, youre really out of the active addiction, and by that point you actually regain the choice over whether you put that drug in your body or not.

I haven't really struggled with substance addiction (addiction: no - abuse: yes)but I gots other issues and it works the same way. There have been times when I thought I got my shit worked out but I have found that, once you have an issue it's yours for life. You can't never pretend like it's not there or it will trip you up, fersure.

what made me finally get it right was seeing someone else, my bf that I met in rehab (good one, snow) relapse in front of my eyes and shoot everything we had worked for to shit in a few days and begging me for $, swearing on his son's life it wasn't for crack (that was his DOC, btw, not mine!scary) stealing my money selling everything in the apt when I was at work and worrying me to death I was like, wow, that's how I act, that's how I hurt people and disgust them too, I just can't be this person anymore....so far, it's held for over 8 years, fingers crossed.

No Miss, I never got to experience their lovely hospitality. I spent a lot of time at Beth Isreal tho and Gracie Square and St Vincents etc etc etc LOL sad, I'm so glad those days are behind me. I feel so bad when I see people like Wino who have so much still to go thru, but it helps ME , if you know what I mean.

4 times: 90 day inpatient treatment
1 time: 365 day inpatient treatment
3 times: 90 day outpatient treatment
4 times: living in "sober houses" or "halfway houses" for periods between 1 week and 1 year
20+ times: 7 day detox treatments
2 times: jail
ongoing: once weekly counseling with an LMHC
.... to get clean.
Its a long process.

Okay, did she gain about 20 pounds overnight? Her skin does look better, but the weight gain seems to be bloat from illness.
Richard Strangdog said it's prednisone bloat, to treat her infection. I looked it up and that matches.

missy: "Out Patient" treatment may very well be the only thing some people are willingly to accept and after a few days decide it isn't for them and never return. Don't you think Amy would be better off staying in a Clinic for an extended period of time and ridding herself of her demons? Perhaps Great Britain doesn't have involuntary commitment and she'll remain free to come and go as she pleases, which up until now hasn't worked. If she's going to survive, she needs long-term professional care and guidance...

Since when have rehab clinics had "swinging doors"? You're either in for the long haul or you're out. It's admirable that Amy's attempting to clean up her act, but nonsensical to enter a Clinic, go home and then re-enter two days later. It's obvious that she needs 24/7 guidance and that's not going to happen at the "Camden Crack House".
I agree that she appears to have been scrubbed and polished, but how long will that last if she's constantly returning home to her old vices?
I guess they forced her into that clinic last week just to scrub her down.
