Everything's Better With A Little Rickman In It
Alan Rickman has joined the cast of Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" in the role he was born to play: The Caterpillar! Alan dressed in a sexy caterpillar costume and smoking a hookah!? I can't. His voice is already like a smoke of warm velvet, so I can already imagine what he's going to sound like as The Caterpillar. You better bring some Kleenex to clean up your ear orgasms.
Another Burton veteran, Christopher Lee, will also lend his skills to the movie, but it's not known what role he's going to play. Some seem think he's going to play The White Knight.
The rest of the cast includes Johnny Depp (Mad Hatter), Mia Wasikowska (Alice), Helena Bonham Carter (The Red Queen), Anne Hathaway (The White Queen), Michael Sheen (Cheshire Cat), Matt Lucas (Tweedledee/Tweedledum) and Crispin Glover (Knave of Hearts). Of course, Danny Elfman is doing the score.
This shit comes out in 2010, so that gives you plenty of time to perfect your pot brownie recipe. You know this crap is going to be best viewed with a few scrumptious chocolate weed cakes.

considering this movie is for kids and we live in an ultra PC "we must airbrush dr. seuss' cigarette from his picture" world, i doubt the caterpillar will have his hookah. a character in a kid's movie...smoking!?...not just smoking...smoking *wink wink* DRUGS!!!???

Totally off topic.
My new avie is a photo of my darling boy, Figaro. He celebrated his 18th birthday 2 weeks ago. Sadly, my furry shadow (he followed me everywhere at home)fel il Friday and was hospitalized over the weekend. Saturday's visit brought welcomed news that he responded well to the treatments and had a huge dinner. Sunday brought news that he was not improving beyond the previous day and he refused to eat. Blah, blah, I know but forgive me. Last night I came home and agonized over further treatment or, well, you know the alternative. This morning, on my way out the door I got a call from the vet that my sweet companion for nerly 2 decades died in his sleep. The little lamb made the decision I had dreaded making. Yes, he was 18, but up until Friday he behaved like a cat 3/4 his age. I am devastated, but experienced no pain, went fairly quickly from the on set of his illness to the end. His age finally caught up with his little body.
Sorry for the long tear jerk post, but this day sucks, on the heels of getting Fig off to the crematorium (yes, I keep all of my cats ashes in urns and I am nuts!) I stop by my boyfriends house to pick up banking he left for me to do while he was out of town. I pick up laundry off of the floor and what do I find? A hideous denim mini-skirt (ruffle on bottom) laying in a pile of clothes. I assure you, I would never wear a Saved By The Bell throw back, nor would his daughter have left it as she hasn't been at his house for two months. I know it wasn't there last week when I FUCKING CLEAN THE DUMP. OK, I am done.

Alice in Wonderland doesn't need to be turned into some easy-to-market, mastabutory circus of the faux-macabre.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeny Todd, Alice in Wonderland. Does this man have any original ideas left?
The only time that I would have supported a modern film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, would have been when light of my life, Dame Sarah Michelle Gellar would have been young enough to play Alice.
