AMEN! Keeping fit and building muscles not only protects your bones and keeps you healthy but muscles burn more calories and keeps your metabolism UP UP UP. Starvation does the exact opposite and makes you feel zapped. I'd rather work-out our for a burger than starve for a saltine.

PSL, I totally agree with the eating disorder thing. I had an ED in high school, addicted to diet pills and shit, I would purge too.

Then I gained a lot of weight.

Then I learned the best way to be thin and stay in shape is by working out regularly, which I do now.

I'm lucky I snapped out of it myself. No one ever knew I was throwing up.

Donatella is just making it worse by putting in all those holes in the belt Allegra is wearing. She has two left in that belt!! Please!!! if that belt was closed to the last hole, it would be the size of a fifty cent piece. No...that mother is not helping her by making that "special sized belt"......Hospitalization. Pronto. In some nice cushy Psych hospital in Switzerland. If Gianni was alive that's where she'd be. He loved this child more than life itself.

Eating disorders have become so insidious it's painful to watch the obvious and the more the media gods perpetuate the obvious the more it seems like a 'norm' rather than a freak-fest.

I applaud you for seeing what a serious situation your sister is in & not ignoring it. If no one else in your family is going to do something, it's up to you. My sister used "Help Your Teenager Beat an Eating Disorder" when my niece had some issues. She highly recommends this book & feels it helped open the doors to talking with my niece. If that book isn't for you, there's many others out there. Your sister is lucky she has you. Best of luck.

Oh I forgot to mention that anorexic model/actress that was also featured on Entertainment Tonight, they followed her around after her controversial campaign poster, again it seemed they were glorifying that poor girl's illness for entertainment purposes. They filmed her eating. ET You are sick and should've been cancelled decades ago! I do realize that every case is different, If your child seems withdrawn and is constantly vying for your attention or approval, or is a perfectionist and is competitive, or obsessed with their body image, you may have to monitor their behavioral growth, the sooner the better, and for God's sake do not complain about yourself in front of your children, your disatisfaction with your own body, could affect a girl's mind at any age( anorexia could start at any age), if possible block those PRO-ANO web sites, and Don't watch ET. PS I agree throw away the house scale get weighed at your doctor's office. If your clothes are getting tighter, cut back on something and go take more walks. This is a serious matter! That's it I'm out.

. is correct in saying that she cannot think correct because her brain isn't working properly due to a lack of nutrients. I was also crippled by guilt and anxiety. I felt so guilty for making people stress about me yet if I ate I'd be overwhelmed by anxiety about what I just did. I'd go crazy because I ate a few calories more than what I was "allowed' and I'd have to go out for a walk even though it was eleven at night or something to wear it off. So, add exhaustion to the mix. It's a horrid disease.

I wasn't talking about the people on here- I was talking about Dlisted themselves. The title says, 'JLo- give the girl some of yours' and in the past there have been plenty of pictures and stories about how big or not Jlo- and many other celebrities are.

Naturally thin people are a mystery to me. I had a best friend naturally thin that way who would drink weight gain shakes and she was jealous of my boobs and I was jealous of her hip bones sticking out. Go figure? Warped. I know.

Allegra's brain is shutting down. She literally can't think straight because her brain needs fat to function properly. Her internal organs are in panic mode and will eventually completely shut down if she doesn't get intensive care. You can't be too rich and too thin? I don't think so.

All three of these people need to be institutionalized.

please put Allegra next to Keira Knightley..If that will shut her up from her usual 'people hurt me when they say I'm too thin' talk and make her feel like a fat ass everyone would be happy...

EXACTLY. I wanted to DISAPPEAR. I hated myself, I hated my breasts, my period, my womanhood. I hated ME. Attention was the last thing on my mind.

Earlier this year, photos from Milan Fashion Week showed Allegra looking very healthy and fit. Do a google search and they are easy to find. She had put on some much needed weight and had some roundness in her face instead of all the pointy angles she sports when fully ill. It is sad to see that her remission from Anorexia was short lived. She looks more unhealthy than ever before now. Very sad.
