Little Jenny from "Gossip Girl" was in Los Angeles, doing wholesome things like preparing for a test, when she woke up one morning with a sore throat. Well, it turns out that it was some kind of throat infection that could have KILLED her. Does Blair Waldorf Salad have an alibi?
Little Jenny's doctor talked to UsWeekly (WTF?) about his patient's prognosis. Dr. Shawn Nasseri said, "I have been treating Miss Taylor Momsen for the last few days. She has been hospitalized for a severe, potentially life-threatening throat infection since Sunday. She has been an excellent patient, and after aggressive antibiotics and medications, she is expected to make a full recovery in the next three to five days."
She's now out of the hospital and is going back to NYC with her mother this week.
Hopefully, Cindy Lou Who won't sleep with the COKE...I mean...fan on anymore. Sleeping with the BARF...I mean...the fan on can lead to terrible sore throat issues. I'm sorry about those sentences. My blog Tourettes is acting up again.

She may look older in this picture because of all the makeup she has on. If you watch the show she definitely looks her age. She looks very young to the point that it almost looks foolish that she's working for a top fashion designer on the show. Just sayin.

I can believe the throat thing b/c my dad had the same called "morbid sore throat" but he's like SEVENTY YEARS OLD. She does look old though - what are these young girls doing to age themselves? Its not just the bad make up, hair and clothes, she looks dead in the eyes. No one worked and partied harder than I did at 15 years old but I could still pull it together and look like a fresh young thing, and I didn't have the benefit of make up artists fixing my face before by shifts bussing tables. did anybody mention acute epiglottitis? that is something that happens more often than believed and that can really kill. somebody mentioned infective endocarditis but that is probably going to take more than 3 to 5 days to cure. My bet on acute epiglottitis.

I see those letters a lot--and have even asked doctors to write a few--when someone is trying to get out of a work or court commitment. Doctors are surprisingly lax about writing them and couch them in terms that give the docs leeway or wiggle room. Plus the docs are not under oath and no one can really challenge the diagnosis anyway.

Well, I think her doctor is lying for her, but his explanation is vaguely possible.
If you leave a strep throat infection untreated, it can spread to the heart and cause bacterial endocarditis, aka, an infection of the lining of the walls of your heart, aka, rheumatic fever. If she JUST recently came down with strep throat, I doubt that this "life threatening" situation would happen so quickly; it would at least take a few weeks.
Nonetheless, strep throat is NOT to be f'd around with. If it spreads to your heart, it affects your the valves in your heart and can cause serious issues. IV drug users often get this infection...
