Jenny McCarthy Has Powers
Jenny McCarthy's son was diagnosed with autism and she believes the MMR vaccine was the cause. She even wrote five books on the subject. Well, thanks to the grace of God and the banishment of evil bread foods, her autistic son is no longer autistic. Jenny says that she put her son on a strict no-wheat, no-dairy diet and his autism eventually disappeared! Or something like that. Before you give her the side-eye, read what she tells UsWeekly:
"I made a deal with God. I said, 'You fix my boy, you show me the way and I'll teach the world how I did it.'" God listened to her and replied, "No bread. No milk. No problem." Jenny listened and that was that! I made up that last part by the way.
Jenny recalls the moment she started to believe that her son was "recovered." It was while he was watching an episode of Spongebob. She said, "I heard Evan laugh...I jumped on the bed and started screaming. When he finally hugged me, I prayed, 'Please God don't let this be the only time.'"
She will continue to be an advocate for autism awareness. Jenny said that she recently tried to speak to John McCain about it, because he's spoken about autism and vaccines before. Jenny said, "McCain had come out and said he thinks there's enough evidence between vaccines and autism, so I got on a helicopter [to meet him for] an on-camera interview. By the time I got there, the campaign manager said, 'He's ahead in the polls, and this is too controversial, and he doesn't want to go one way or the next.'"
I'm sure Jenny replied with, "THAT'S BULLSHIT!"

Okay, I have to share this with y'all and maybe you'll have just a little faith:
I wasn't sure what to do. I was uncomfortable and I knew I couldn't wait anymore. So I went through the drive thru at Taco Bell, ordered a chicken quesadilla and after I ate it, I was cured. My hunger ended just.like.that. Praise the Lawd!
Dammit, if you can cure a disorder as severe and complex as autism, where's my cure for ADD?! D:<

Ah, the voice of reason.
Everyone is different. My friend drinks coffee right before bed because it makes her sleepy. If I did that, I'd be awake all night.
And diet can make a HUGE difference in a child's behavior and ability to concentrate and learn. Food dyes can make children hyperactive. I think that's pretty well established. I'm not saying diet can cure autism, because I don't think it's that simple. But there is anecdotal evidence that it has helped some children. Why is everyone so upset about that?
__________________________________________________
I totally agree with the points you make. However, people are upset because she is claiming her son is CURED of a disorder that has no known cure. It would be one thing if she said he was being helped but cured? That's a whole 'nother thing esp. without any scientific proof to back up her claim that he is cured. . .

I don't have kids yet, I don't support republicans and I feel indifferent towards Jenny McCarthy as a Z-lister seleb, but her story was so moving, that I had a goose skin finding out about recovery of her son! I'm also not a religious person, but now I just want to sing Hallellujah.... it is a miracle.
You may call her bitch, an attention whore or whatevs, but I admire this strong woman for her deeds and faith, I'm SO happy that her son is doing better and may God bless her little family and help her on spreading the info. Evan is a cutie patootie!

Everyone knows the solution to every problem plaguing this world is barley water and Karo syrup. If we could somehow slip some into the Middle Eastern water supply, all would be right again and millions of taxpayer dollars would be saved.
Seriously, I read a graphic novel (i.e. very detailed comic book) on raising a child with autism, and while I realize there are different severities, it is just not that simple (yes, I learned that from a *comic*!!). If he's truly better, his must have been a super mild case.

Stupid Bitch! Her slow is just developmentally slow, not autistic. Autism NEVER goes away. There is no cure, its not a disease, its a disorder. It's a behavioral and communicative disorder and the only way that a child will change is if they're properly socialized and maintain a routine.
This woman is such scum to say that she can barter with God, like her porn star past has put her in such good graces than the thousands of Christian and religious couples with children with leukemia whose children wont make it.

Well, many, MANY trials and tests later, both here and in Britain and other countries have shown NO LINK between the two. NONE!
Jenny McCarthy has unfairly used her celebrity (for being naked) to promote this idea and now Doctor(?) McCarthy has claimed to have effected a cure??????

@ dementa: ah, if she's claiming that then I agree. "Cure" means strictly that something is gone, never coming back, but she appears from this post to have said "recovered" and that can mean alleviation of symptoms, not necessarily making the underlying causes or perhaps genetic mutation "go away." eh, my 2 cents.
Roger that Sheeps.
Bees should be out there making honey and pollinating. Not giving their lives for muscle spasms. That's what we have drugs for!
mmmmm drugs.
+~~~+~~~+~~~+~~~+~~~+~~~+~~~+~~~+
BOO!
For the record: I don't think there's any doubt that there can be alleviation of symptoms due to food. Sometimes it does cause the person's autism to become less prominent, and sometimes meds can also help.
But McCarslut isn't saying that his autism has been lessened -- she's claiming she "saved" her kid and that he "recovered" from autism.
Why can't we have more celebs like Colin Farrell? I don't really like him, but I have to respect his handling of his son's disability.

Autism is diagnosed by behaviors so lots of things cause it. My son got way better by removing gluten and dairy. And by better I mean before = 24/7 screaming; after = no screaming. I don't need a scientist with a study to tell me that it works.

p.s. -- I find the posters whinging about "all these people whose kids are autistic" hilarious in their outrage. With the Human Genome Project and mounting research new facts are filtering to the general population -- e.g., things considered "weird" now have a name or at least we are getting to the causes and effects of it. Knowledge is my friend, your friend, and even reactionary jerk-offs like Denis Leary's friend :)

The human body and psyche is so complex and so much is still unknown about how they interact with the environment that I wouldn't venture to doubt that this triggered a type of recovery or at least alleviated symptoms for Jenny McCarthy's child. What bothers me is when it's taken as a cure-all for all cases. But I still support her in spreading the news because it might help other Autistic kids.

Oh, and in addition: I fucking hate people who announce that, "It worked for me, which means that scientifically it will work for everyone else."
And I hate the Hollywood types whose egos cannot cope with the idea of autistic children. They can be some of the sweetest, smartest, nicest children in the world, but their stupid douchebag parents either ignore and neglect them, or troll around for somebody else to blame.
McCain ahead in the polls? HA! Now, THAT's bullshit
