The Riches wasn't a bad show either, although I thought that Eddie and Minnie had ZERO chemistry. There's something cold about Minnie, she rarely has chemistry with ANYBODY she co-stars with!

Thanks. It just seemed like they were shifting in and out of accents, but I forgot about the older kids.
I don't remember the part about Eddie growing up somewhere else either--but it's been so long since the show's been on. I should get the DVD.

I believe minnie and the kids were supposed to have similar accents. Yes the two older kids def had accents, sammi not so much.
Eddies character grew up somewhere else and joined the travellers after grade 7 i think - they likely put that in the story line to compensate for his generic american accent.
Bastards. I loved that show.

I knew The Riches would be canceled. I was just thinking about that show yesterday, how the first season was so good and the show had a lot of promise but the second season was disappointing.
The one thing I could never figure out about that show was what kind of accents they were supposed to have. Minnie sounded Southern, Eddie occasionally sounded English, and the kids didn't have accents. Were they just bad American accents? Or were the "travellers" supposed to sound that way?

NO Bull Durham II. Please, god. I love the first one but a sequel has disaster written all over it.
I live in Durham, NC, and go to Bulls games regularly in the summer but here is one instance where I could not bear to support them: Kevin Costner was supposed to perform at the DBAP (Durham Bulls Athletic Park) with his band Modern West on July 4 this year (but it got rained out). I have nothing against Kevin Costner but that is the corniest shit I have ever heard.

I adore Eddie Izzard. I've seen "Dress to Kill" about 20 times and still laugh my ass off every time. I loved him as Charlie Chaplin in "The Cat's Meow". My hub and I saw the "Stripped" show in Chicago this year, (which was ridiculously funny).
I really WANTED to like "The Riches". I watched the first few episodes, and found it way over the top. I just felt the writers through too much in there. It wasn't funny, nor compelling, and I felt no empathy for any of the characters.
I look forward to Eddie's next project.

"The Riches"? I didn't even know this show existed. I would've watched if FX had done a little promotion and made the world aware of it...the premise sounds like it was interesting. Oh well, that's what you get for putting anything on a FOX network.
