Travis Barker And DJ AM Expected To Make A Full Recovery
Dr. Fred Mullins of the Augusta, GA's Joseph Still Burn Center held a press conference this morning to give an update on Travis Barker and DJ AM's injuries from Friday's plane crash that killed 4 people.
Dr. Fred said the two are expected to make a "full recovery." He said they both suffered second and third degrees burns. He added that it can take up to a year to recover from such burns but the two didn't suffer any other type of injuries. He went on to say that Travis was burned on his torso. DJ was burned on his hands and part of his head. Dr. Fred would not say what percentage of their bodies were burned or if they were conscious. He also said they should be able to return to performing once they have recovered.
Given the circumstances, this is good news.
During the press conference, Dr. Fred read a statement from the families:
“The families wish to thank fans from all over the world for their prayers and concern. Deepest sympathy is expressed to the loved ones of those who perished in the crash. As the two recuperate and mourn this loss, privacy for them, their families and friends is requested at this time.”

When I first heard about this I instantly thought of "LaBamba" and the loss of those 3 artists on that day.
One thing that I was wondering about: Between the burns and the tats, how in hell can they see a vein to poke Travis in? I guess they could use the femoral vein, if he hasn't got groin tats...
Hey PSL!!
Just a quick peek today....

Love Anderson: French fries
I was trying to rescue an older kitten who had climbed up into the gear or transmission housing, whatev, of a truck at the county jail. I tried everything. canned cat food, dry cat food, tuna.. then a lady came over to me, curious and said she had some french fries. It worked. They were hot and fresh, so maybe it was the smell.

I had a neighbor when I was a kid (country kid) she accidentally turned her car on when a kitty was stuck in the engine. Kitty didn't make it. Ever since, she has honked her horn twice before starting her car, just in case. Apparently, it worked, as far as I know, so that's another idea.

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!
Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!
When I'm stuck a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh!
The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way!

Wow. This is the first I've heard of this tragedy. Total sadness.
My prayers are with them and their families, as well as for the families of the deceased.
Aphid!
Good karma for you baby....
I am happy to hear the guys will be ok...they have a painful year ahead of them though......

This made me so sad. I'm glad that they're going to be okay, given the circumstances.

I'm pissed right now cause someone DUMPED a cat on our block.

People who do such things boggle my mind. So callous and fucked up. Kudos to you Anderson, for helping the kitty out. Maybe a little wet cat food will help?
I would offer it some of the Chelada (Mexican red beer) I am treating my hangover with, but doubt kitty would find it as delicious as I do right now.
OT = best wishes to the plane passengers and their families.

Well Thank Jeebus and Cheesus.
I was hesitant about coming here and low and behold, some good news.
Good Sunday Morning Everyone, I spent my morning trying to get a cat back to it's owners, I got a flier yesterday and out my window I saw the little thing this morning, I called the owners but we didn't get him, he's been missing for three weeks and he's still alive and looks fine, so that's sort of good news.
I spent two hours in heavy brush and run off water trying to get him out.

You know what? YOU ROCK! xoxox
OT: I am glad to hear they're gonna be okay. It's too bad they didn't all survive.
Good for them. Still such a sad story for all the families...

Full recovery - let's hope so. But its a little early to be saying such a thing, no? I do find it amazing there were no broken bones or other injuries..?! As a survivor of a major medical/hospitilazation, there are other "factors" involved that most doctors know nothing, NOTHING about. These guys have been through a huge trauma with catastrophic results. Merely fixing their burns will not be enough. I can almost guarantee a major depression for one if not both of these guys. How will that be treated? Antidepressants? Let's hope not. Check the endocrine system - it usually gets trashed in such a trauma. Best of luck guys, you will need it.

Yep. My dad was burned %65 percent in Vietnam in a helicopter crash. There's no coming back from that completely whole... physically, mentally, or otherwise.

I am so glad they are going to be ok. But the recovery is going to be such a struggle - between the physical aspects of it, and the emotional, I really feel for them. The "survivor's guilt" is going to require lots of therapy, so I wish them the best. This whole thing has just been so sad.
Well Thank Jeebus and Cheesus.

Ahhh, this is so much better than yesterday.
Thank Jesus and Dr. Fred. That's great news, so sad for the others...the thought of the wife going into labor and losing her husband on the same day is unbearable. Poor woman.
'Cause if there's one thing that she don't like, it's getting gang-raped and her hair extensions swiped...in the ghetto.
Amen!
But let's not forget all the other souls that were lost. I hope these two can make a full recovery physically and emotionally.
well there, good news for a sunday morning!
