Maddox's daddy has donated 1 Brangelina dollar to fight the gay marriage ban in California. Oh, 1 Brangelina dollar is 100,000 American dollars. The LA Times reports, that Brad announced he is giving up $100,000 from his own checking account to fight California's Proposition 8, a November ballot measure that would eliminate same-sex couples' right to get married.
Brad said: "Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8."
So far, Brad's $100,000 donation is the largest to the NO ON PROP 8 campaign by an A-list celebrity. Come on, Tommy Girl! Step it up! And by "step it up" I don't mean get higher lifts.
If Prop 8 passes, that means Ellen and Portia's beautiful gayelle married bliss would be null and void. Don't make the gayelles sad. The world stops turning when lesbians cry.

I find it ironic too that Jolie's PR rep has denied these break up rumors so quickly. It was only last year that Jolie gave an interview and had stated that they don't pay attention to what is said about them. She said the only question they ask when hearing a story about themselves is "which paper was the story in, is it a reputable newspaper or not". So it appears that this PR rep was replying to the rumor that Perez Hilton has on his site. Since when is Perez Hilton a reputable ANYTHING?! If you look for press releases for this year from them you will see that they are in the 4-5 million range. They have essentially bought 15million in publicity for 5million and that is what causes the scepticism.

That is a good idea, however, sometimes when you support something you dont want to be to in your face about it or else people get turned of. Which is why giving a donation, making it known that you support the cause thus hopefully inspiring others to do so, but without it seeming that you and the cause are a little to one in the same. Who knows maybe in the future he will do a commercial, but like I said, commercials to me are ineffective because most people tend to change the channel or get a snack when its commercial time, which is why when someone like him simply supports something, in the web it spreads quicker, and most people now a days depend on the internet for their info. All I know pimpcessa is that had he not put his name behind prop 8, it would have never made it to dlisted, and I would have likely never heard of it, so I am looking at it in those terms but what you said is a good idea for the future, I am sure this is only the beginning of things to come.

I don't really care about the reasons behind his charity, I'm not here to argue with people over what at the end of the day are simply differing opinions. You wouldn't know what he did it for, you're assuming. If you hate him/them fine, just know your views on every little thing they do will reflect your dislike for him/them as people. I don't even HAVE a real opinion on Brad and Angelina as individuals or as a couple. Don't love them, don't hate them... total indifference. So, all I said was that I don't see them as conspicuous consumers and I actually DO take their charitable acts as more concern for humanity than pure publicity. There are many people with loads of money who don't do shit with it, at least they're using their celebrity for SOMETHING. Society today isn't inherently generous, they're celeb-obsessed. So at the end of the day, are we going to care if a cause gets attention because a notable name is attached to it? If that inspires people to act or donate, I can't see how it's a bad thing. He could just as easily have done nothing at all, or just brought awareness without the charity. It really shouldn't matter, and I just don't see their attitudes as doing shit for the sake of being seen as do-gooders. It's too much money, it's too much ACTION (which is more important than money) to be 110% for publicity purposes. You DON'T HAVE TO AGREE, and I, personally, don't mind if you don't. Having an opinion is better than apathy. :)
