They Picked The Wrong Gayelle

Ellen Degeneres is the newest face of CoverGirl. And yes, I said Ellen Degeneres and not Zac Efron. Ellen announced on her show today that she will star in commercials for CoverGirl that will begin airing next year.

Ellen, who probably doesn't wear make-up when not on camera, said, "I am very, very excited about it. It's a very cool thing, I'm honored and the photo shoot was 'easy, breezy, beautiful ... CoverGirl.'"

More like "easy, breezy, lezziful...."

I like Ellen. If she made me cookies, I would eat them, but she is not the right gayelle for the job! I just have two words: ROJO CALIENTE! The world needs to pull the dildo out of their asses and recognize this woman! She should be on billboards, in movies and in the oval office. She should be everywhere! The whores at CoverGirl made a mistake!

Unless, they did consider her, but realized that there is no way they can improve upon her natural beauty. Yeah, that must be it.

For someone who supposedly loves animals and cares about their well being - Cover Girl? They are one of the worst companies for testing their makeup and products on ANIMALS. Guess that doesn't matter though when you're getting a big cheque.

I guess Cover Girl didn't read Ellen Degeneres' book that she wrote a few years back (yeah, I read it cover to cover). She explains in a long paragraph how she doesn't wear makeup and doesn't understand the need for it.

Very hypocritical. At least with Queen Latifah, she didn't write a book that mentioned not seeing the need for makeup, even if she isn't a typical "Cover Girl" spokesperson.

Do you use DHC for real? I tried it last year and it did not get along with my face. I thought the virgin olive oil stuff was suppose to be good for you? Instead it caused a break out and I don't normally have acne. I stopped using it but still get those catalogs with free samples :-) any suggestions on what to use?

Do I buy into all the photo shopping bullshit? NO. You're talking to someone who rarely wears make up, aside from eyeliner and lip gloss/lipstick. I'm not gonna purchase shit just because it's making Halle Berry or Courtney Thourne Smith look attractive. I have my own mind. I'm speaking in general though. I think Ellen has really gorgeous eyes.
I also think it was a smart move to choose her to be the newest face of CG...older women who are big makeup buyers love her. And isn't Queen Latifa also a gayelle?
I'm 46 and would not be seen in public without makeup, especially concealer.

Smart. What everyone else said: she's a regular-looking person who's likeable and relatable. Young hip SATC women don't buy CG anyway.

I don't wear much makeup, either. I don't look any better with it on, so I just do mascara and lippie. There's nothing better for skin than a truly healthy lifestyle. I don't use anything on my face except water and coconut oil, and my skin is so happy.

IMO, lesbian or not, Ellen is much closer to a 'regular' woman than these hideous 'Hollywood' women with the plastic surgery and bad make-up. Honestly, I would relate much better with Ellen than I would Christie Brinkley, Kate Moss or whoever.

CG isn't looking for glamour, they are looking for regular women who want to cover up some uneven skin tone and blemishes, not Shauna Sand or some stick thin model.

I'm sure Ellen wears light make-up regularly. That is the target audience for CG.

Whether or not she is a lesbian has nothing to do with make-up. It's stereotypical to act like most lesbians are butch who wouldn't touch make-up.
