John McCain was on "The View" this morning and turned the joint upside down. Although, that's not hard to do. John he wants the constitution interpreted the way that it was originally written. This didn't sit well with Whoopi and she responded: ""Should I be worried about being a slave, about being returned to slavery because certain things happened in the Constitution that you had to change?" If only Cindy McCain was sitting there at the time! She would've freaked out and ran for the nearest medicine cabinet.
That's what Barbara Walters should have done instead of opening her mouth and saying, "Us white folk will take care of you!" WTF?! Is Babs cutting her Metamucil with crack again?! She sounded like Miss Millie from "The Color Purple." Seriously, Babs needs to go to her room, lock the door, put a warm towel on her head and lay down for a real long time.

I made a bet with myself watching a cute brother in a green lowrider driving the speed limit in a white neighborhood to see if he'd get pulled over within the next five minutes...30 seconds later my son asked me why three cops cars were around the nice car and why were all the cops laughing hysterically...I was fucking sick...this is typical here...I'm a Knicks/Jets fan who loves Obama (and fears for his safety), who is pro-choice, loves the gays with a fury, is a brown woman (who was terrorized in her youth) with open views on most things...Needless to say I don't have many friends around here.

Hey, I'm an Indiana native too, and totally agree with you about living there... I escaped to NYC a few years ago and have never been happier! In one of the political threads yesterday I mentioned the bar outside my town with a black dummy hanging from the tree. Sadly, that's pretty representative of the attitudes of the people who live there (including my husband's family, thankfully not including my own.) I am bound and determined to convince my mom and siblings to move out of the area... my mom actually had her Obama bumper sticker keyed off a few weeks ago!

For 8 sad years this guy has backed Bush on every issue. McCain was pro-choice and now claims to be anti-choice, all in the name of getting some religious votes. Me too! I live in Ca. I have asked a few men I know who vote Republican. They have actually said they can't believe McCain's choice. And were concerned with the direction of their party. But the vast majority of people are Democrats and will vote Obama. I am clueless to where these "polls" are coming from. Maybe we need to go to the center of the country to find these people.

That is true. But that is the way things were in the 1700's. For God's sake, as has been stated, women of any color had very few rights at that time, and couldn't vote 'til 1920. We are all products of our times. If you read about the Revolution, the slavery issue WAS on the table then, but the Colonies would have never gotten the support of the Southern colonies, (to declare Independence from the British), had slavery been abolished then.
