Barbara Walters Is Nuts!
John McCain was on "The View" this morning and turned the joint upside down. Although, that's not hard to do. John he wants the constitution interpreted the way that it was originally written. This didn't sit well with Whoopi and she responded: ""Should I be worried about being a slave, about being returned to slavery because certain things happened in the Constitution that you had to change?" If only Cindy McCain was sitting there at the time! She would've freaked out and ran for the nearest medicine cabinet.
That's what Barbara Walters should have done instead of opening her mouth and saying, "Us white folk will take care of you!" WTF?! Is Babs cutting her Metamucil with crack again?! She sounded like Miss Millie from "The Color Purple." Seriously, Babs needs to go to her room, lock the door, put a warm towel on her head and lay down for a real long time.
Even Sherri couldn't believe this fuckery! I think Hasselcrack probably went caca in her white silk panties. Joy seemed to be the only one enjoying this shit.

Yeah, that's the thing... there are the openly bigoted people (like Umbertooooo) who we can openly ridicule, and then there are the PC racists, who know they can't come out and say anything around non-racists, but go on thinking it and acting on their thoughts...
Honestly, I don't think the older generation dying out will cure racism, or even help it that much. People in their 20s, 30s, 40s are as commonly racist, they're just better at keeping it under wraps.

Speaking of bigots, we took my MIL on vacation with us during the summer. She is a wonderful, albeit immature, 75 year old woman from just outside Boston, where I also originate from.
She told me that she doesn't like McCain at all, but still couldn't bring herself to vote for Obama. At the time, Clinton was still in the race, so she was going to vote for her, but things weren't looking good for her staying in the race.
I asked her why she couldn't bring herself to vote for Obama. She kept saying 'I don't know' with a gleam in her eye. She knows that I am about as far from bigoted about people as one can get. She got very animated and a little angry, to tell you the truth. I nicely asked her about the issues and if she knew exactly what she felt the problems were with Obama that caused her concern. She actually gave me this sideways smile because she knew that I knew what she wasn't coming out and saying.
I did want to be sure to make her uncomfortable though by continuing to ask. I could tell she was embarrassed, as she should have been, imo.

angry mom, I too live in the midwest and honestly it is more racist than the south. At least they have manners.
Im two states from where you are, and we don't have "open" racism like dummies hanging from bars, or anything you can directly pinpoint. It is a quiet insidious type of prejudice that comes across in conversations, and assumptions. But people are at least polite.
The country becomes more open minded the further west you go. I lived in Vegas for a while and out west everybody lives with each other. The gangs are bad, but the racist stuff is not a common occurence.
