Cristal Conners As Sarah Palin

Gina Gershon aka Cristal Conners aka my silver screen idol put on a pair of sexy Lens Crafters glasses to play Sarah Palin in a new video for Funny or Die. I thought Tina Fey would make a good Palin, I was wrong! Cristal's Sarah is almost spot on. Polar bear shit!

If only Cristal randomly threw in one of her amazing lines from "Showgirls." "You are a whore, darlin'. We all are. We take the cash, we cash the check, we show them what they want to see!" is my all-time favorite. Ugh. Now I have to watch "Showgirls" for the millionth time again tonight.

You know, this isn't that funny. I think because it's too close to the truth. As in, Palin really talks and acts like this. I think Gershon just gave all the religious conservatives something to masturbate to. I mean, this is like their dream.

Gershon is hot. Why isn't she in more movies?

@pennyroyal and Dr. Funk.
I think Funk is right. We need to remember that our constitution does not use popular vote to choose. The electorate votes for each state sort of has an equalizing effect. It gives the less populated states more power than the popular vote.

McCain didn't choose her because she would bring in the Hilary voters. He chose her because he wanted to get the religious conservatives. They are the onew who got GWB elected. He knew his "maverick" title was not sitting well with the James Dobson types. Dobson brought up Palin's name as a good candidate.

Here at least, it's harmless.
Comparative beliefs not being measured under the guise of "Religion".
Some find balance in incorporating the intangible with the tangible.
Religion has oppressed the "free will" ride all are supposed to have unconditionally.
Rules not of something that is named "God" but rules that disallowed the human experience and attempted to control and navigate curiosity by rogue and power hungry, greedy Patriarchal societies of the past, enlisting fear instead of nurturing tolerance and opening the mind.

I completely agree with you here. I call it "energy" too. It's refreshing to hear someone else shares a similar viewpoint. I think it's kind of pretentious for human beings to think they know what the THING is, let alone what it is thinking. After studying chemistry, physics, and math for years science has kind of become my religion; it is fascinating, powerful, beautiful and terrifying. The order, chaos, and energy interchanged between in the Universe is the only thing we can know for sure.

Ha! Yeah - I guess you could say I'm a tree-hugger;p

And the human element is essential. I kinda view Gods as archetypes for human revelation. Like, a visual to help us put the pieces of the puzzle together. I kinda believe in everyone's God for everyone just not one God for all. And then I kinda don't believe in anything because I'm constantly being surprised...so I guess you could say I have some faith in that too:)

D.C. is supposedly built deliberately on a cross section of "Lay Lines"

Is that kind of the ball park your at?
I don't discount those intangibles, not at all but it takes the human element I thought to exercise them, hence why evolution for me, is the only plausible "thing" that explains how mankind came to be.

Greater than us meaning what exactly, the planet got torpedoed by meteorites, that changed it's atmosphere and certain compositions of the life that was, there by transforming over long periods of time the life forms that survived.
But I can't wrap my head around someTHING intervening, like waving a magic wand or something.
I went to Catholic church and all when I was young, we were taught what the Bible said but were also taught it's literal context was not to be taken literally.
IDK, I guess I find science and the material proof strong evidence. I have yet to see anything to prove an "Other Worldly" intervention.

For me, science is not always irrefutable. You have to read so many books in school and form your own opinions for exactly that reason.

"I have yet to see anything to prove an "Other Worldly" intervention."
I can say that I feel it very strongly in my life but in my periphery...no, sometimes head-on...but I'm afraid of it and I don't understand it hardly at all. A part of me understands it - but not the part that types....and even the phrase "other worldly" - if it's here, it's of this world...just nothing seems to fit.

Because I know so little, I tend to refrain from putting a lot of labels on things and sort of allow it to constantly unfold...the more it unfolds the more there seems to be to unfold...

I heart haters: you said "IMHO evolution and creationism are both just theories."

There is a big difference between a scientific theory and an idea called a theory.

From Wikipedia:
"In science a theory is a testable model of the manner of interaction of a set of natural phenomena, capable of predicting future occurrences or observations of the same kind, and capable of being tested through experiment or otherwise verified through empirical observation.

In common usage, the word theory is often used to signify a conjecture, an opinion, a speculation, or a hypothesis. In this usage, a theory is not necessarily based on facts; in other words, it is not required to be consistent with true descriptions of reality."

A hypothesis must be testable and repeatable and pass other rigorous criteria for it to become classified as a theory or even higher as a law (such as the law of gravity). Once a theory is tested and found to be false it is no longer accepted. I am a Geologist and I can tell you the theory of evolution is very relevant today, just as much as the theory of relativity. We don't have to have a time machine to know what happened on Earth in the past. There is an abundance of evidence that tells us what life on earth was like in the past. Evolution is integral to many fields of science: Paleobiology, Paleobotany, Paleontology, and Geology to name a few. Understanding how species of all kinds evolve is critical to research and solving problems currently and those which may arise in the future.

Creationism is one religion's (of thousands) take of how life began on earth. I would hardly equate it with a logical, testable model to explain an observable phenomena. I hope this could help you differentiate between the two in the future. Unless of course you believe God put dinosaurs on Earth to test our faith.

If anything is "Sexist" about this whole debacle, it's the fact that McCain's people picked this woman simply for the fact that she's a woman. They think that women are interchangeable and that, of COURSE, every woman is going to go ahead and vote for someone b/c she has a vagina, as if women are that muddleheaded.
They have buttons calling her "the hot one", rather than touting her real, actual qualities.
Now that, "my friends", is sexism.

The more Hollywood speaks the larger the landslide for McCain.

John Kerry taught them nothing.

IMHO evolution and creationism are both just theories. No one was there when this shit happened. They are BOTH GUESS jobs. Science may have more credibility in some eyes but there is no proof. Same as there is no proof of creationism. So my question is, what the fuck does the beginning of man have to do with THE ISSUES NOW?? Fuck these age-old debates. Oh, and all the people I've known who transferred colleges more than 2 or 3 times before they got their degree were either 1) pregnant, or having some post-abortion emotional problems; 2) having some hardcore family/emotional issues; 3) having some sort of drug/alcohol issue; or 4) flunking out, or quitting before the school could kick em out.

She transferred what, FIVE times? That's insane! I'm amazed she managed to graduate from anywhere, transferring usually zaps half your credits.

Okay, speaking as someone who both majored in English/Journalism in college and went to 3 years of law school... I would give the experience card to the candidate who went to law school. At the very least, it requires some learning of the Constitution and how the government works.

The summer after I graduated college, I worked in a factory making car parts. There were not enough temporary secretarial jobs, and I wasn't qualified to do anything else -- not even teach.

I also think that my world-view was very skewed after going to a small Midwestern liberal arts college. I am certainly much more tolerant of other views, lifestyles, fashions, genders, etc. than I was before moving to NYC. And I know that living "near Russia" does not make you a foreign policy expert. And that there is a difference between Sunni and Shia Muslims.

I had it all wrong! I should have quit after college, stayed in my hometown of 12,000, and started shitting out kids. Then I could have run for Vice President in 20 years!

Seriously though, there is a LOT you don't learn in college, and I don't think a substandard college education at a public school is gonna cut it for someone in that position. I still sure as hell wouldn't feel qualified to do anything like that -- I'd have to at least get a Master's in urban development, public policy, constitutional law, international relations, something like that to even remotely begin to understand all the complexities of our government and our place in the world.

I’m glad that video made fun of her going to so many different colleges. I was curious as to what college she went to and what her major was and so I looked it up. She went to college in three different states just to get a Journalism degree. Don’t they have a Journalism program at every college? Also, how does being a Journalism major and former news anchor qualify her to be Vice President? I like Obama and Biden’s qualifications a lot more.

My thoughts on Palin are that she never planned on going into politics but somehow (unfortunately for us) it worked out that way.
