MTV's VMAs turned into the Cheeto Hillbilly Awards last night after Brit Brit won 3 of those little Moonmen awards. Brit Brit won Best Female Video, Pop Video and Video of the Year for the thrown-together $2 video for "Piece of Me."
Yes, that shit was rigged. I mean, if that shit was the best video of the year, what was the fucking worse? MTV sucked on Brit Brit's buttery flapjacks last night as a "thank you" for last year's epic disaster. It's also they're way of telling us "See, everyone! Brit Brit is right again in the brains."
Brit Brit did manage to get through the night without freaking out. Which kind of sucked for us. Every acceptance speech she gave was the same. She thanked "God, mah boys and her fans." She forgot to thank the bitches who really matter: Chester Cheetah, the good people at Starbucks, the paparazzi and Eli Lilly. They will never forgive her.

I know what you mean. I kinda sad that she did lip (I didn't really notice until I watched it a few times) It's such a shame that she felt she had to lip. Yes, it a fast dancy song. Yes, she doesnt normally do that much dancing, BUT she didn't lip Dirrty than often & she did move a lot to that. If she can do Dirrty, she can do KBG without lipping.
It's not the first time she contradicted herself is it? Oh yes the cape, I missed that on until 6th watch & was like "ohh, she wearing a cape"! She didn't need to do that but was fun.
I do like the fact that she toned down the vocals and her make up. The bangs are cute, not sure about the eyeliner though.

I'll have to watch it again on YouTube because my first impression was...meh. I LOVE the song - it's a great dance song that I can definitely see being played in clubs, so good on her for that move. She needs that kind of exposure so she can have the kind of chart positioning she used to have during the "Genie" era.
Now the performance itself left a lot to be desired. The thing about her that I just realized was that the only times I've really been wowed by her during a live show is when she's singing live. Sometimes she goes overboard with the melismas and trills, but every now and again she pulls off a vocal that puts everybody in the room to shame - but she lipped last night. I was very disappointed, especially since she's the same one who publicly slammed Brit in Allure magazine in 2003 for lipping their performance with Madonna. And sure, she probably did it because she was dancing, but Christina is not a dancer (though she was a little better than usual last night) and I was just not impressed with the basic choreography. Then they had to make the line in the song about her being like Supergirl trying to save the world literal with the cape and I just about died! It was just too much.
I will say, kudos to her for toning down the makeup but I still wish she wasn't a blonde anymore. Adding bangs doesn't help, either.
