Beyonce and somebody else's waist grace the cover of October's Marie Claire UK and she tells the magazine that she's over being a pop star. Raise your hand if you're over her being a pop star too? Solange! Put your hand down. The basement ghosts will get you for that.
Beyonce said: "There is a time limit on being a pop star, yes. Being a legend, an icon? Absolutely not. I’m over being a pop star. I don’t wanna be a hot girl. I wanna be iconic. And I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot. I feel like I’m highly respected, which is more important than any award or any amount of records. And I feel like there comes a point when being a pop star is not enough."
She is not right for saying that. Beyonce has millions of dollars, sold gazillions of records, starred in movies and her family probably falls at her feet when she walks through the door. And that's still not enough?! Meanwhile, poor Solange still has to sit at the kid's table during Thanksgiving dinner.

I think it may be that (the Pocahontas weave) and the nose job...and it looks like she's done something to her eyes, too. I just remember how she looked when she first came out with DC and then before her solo album - she looks TOTALLY DIFFERENT, like another person altogether and it's creepy.
As for the weave thing, I've never had to wear one (I've got long, curly hair), but because of the texture of my hair I DO have to straighten it otherwise I look like Diana Ross in a windstorm - not a good look. Certain people can pull off the all natural do and look fabulous, but you have to have the right face shape and head size for it. Beyonce would look nice with a natural style, but then again, it's not "iconic" enough for her. *rolls eyes*

I think it's the weave. One thing that I LOVE is with the insurgence of North Africans to Toronto over the last 20 years or so is that I get to live with other girls that embrace their nappy hair. I've never worn a weave and I haven't straightened my hair since I was a youngin' and neither have they! And you know what? Our hair looks pretty good! (mostly - we do prolly struggle more for it) It doesn't work like other hair but if you give it a try you can find lots of cool styles. It's nice to not be alone:) (well, I gots hippy friends that do it but it's better when there are some normal people on your side;)
