Got Milk!
The trailer for "Milk" is here and it's pretty evident that Sean Penn will get nominated for one of those gold statue things. The film is based on the life of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man elected to political office. It was directed by Gus Van Zant. Hopefully, "Milk" will redeem Gus for that "Pyscho" fiasco. Casting Vince Vaughn as Norman Bates was just criminal.
"Milk" also stars James Franco, Josh Brolin, Diego Luna, Emile Hirsch and Victor Garber. Victor Garber! I mean, bell bottoms, terry cloth shorts and Victor Garber? I'm in.

Sean Penn usually annoys the shit out of me, but this movie looks fantastic.
Also, I sometimes forget that around 1997-2000, Vince Vaughan did dramas almost exclusively. Weird, right?
Ugh, he does not sound "retarted" in this role. Penn sounds exactly like the very gay, very Jewish, Long Islander that Harvey Milk was. Makes me wonder if we really are ready for this film. :(

i hate sean penn. he's an asswipe, looks like ann b. davis, destroyed robin wright's beauty by spreading his ugliness on her, and thinks he's some sort of national policy administrator.
BUT...
this movie looks friggin awesome. i hate myself for saying that because of my hate for him.
i live in the bay area and i guarantee that pretty much every person who lives here will want to see this flick. just amazes me it wasn't made before. the true story is more shocking than any sort of fiction.

And I agree, I can't stand Sean Penn in general, but he is ONE HELLUVA actor! He actually always makes me forget it's him in any role....not something most superstars can do.
