She Played The Flute?!
John McCain has just chosen some chick named Sarah Palin as his running mate. She's the governor of Alaska or something like that. I don't know her deal. I think she's anti-anything fun. But that's not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about her beauty pageant past!
Sarah was Miss Wasilla 1984. She won second place in the Miss Alaska contest, but was voted Miss Congeniality. Miss Congeniality basically means you're homely but you smile a lot. Sarah played the flute during the talent portion. THE FLUTE?! It's Alaska! Shouldn't she have skinned a trout or danced with a grizzly bear? No wonder she lost. I did a quick search on YouTube, but couldn't find shit from the pageant. I'm sure shit will come up in the next few days.
And and I thought Heidi Montag was locked as McCain's VP?

Haha, yeah, I'm well aware...I was pondering on the national attitude on exercising your right to vote and the obligation we seem to have to vote whether we'd like to or not. Having the right to vote is not the same as being pressured to vote simply because everyone says it's the "right" thing to do. The only thing that I really know about either candidate (being a non-American), is that Obama wants to reopen NAFTA while McCain wants to leave it as is.
Our PM said he would welcome re-negotiating. Unlike when NAFTA was originally drawn up, Canada now holds a lot more leverage than before (because of our oil imports to the U.S., as well as possible exports of fresh water).
Then again, you can always just come and take from us. ;)
(and yes, we get 12 months maternity leave here, but even that isn't as good as what they get in some European countries.)

There is no lesser of two evils, here--they are merely two different types of evil. Really, if we vote, are we really doing a good thing, or are we adding to the problem? The right to vote is a good thing, but should advocates be jumping down our throats telling us to vote simply because it's good to vote, even if we don't agree with either candidate? What about my beliefs? Because I believe that if I'm forced to choose between one of the two here, either choice would go against my ethical and moral fiber. Not to mention, any vote for an independent will automatically count as a vote for McCain because you KNOW an independent is not going to win. Grrrrrr...fucking decisions.
