She Played The Flute?!
John McCain has just chosen some chick named Sarah Palin as his running mate. She's the governor of Alaska or something like that. I don't know her deal. I think she's anti-anything fun. But that's not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about her beauty pageant past!
Sarah was Miss Wasilla 1984. She won second place in the Miss Alaska contest, but was voted Miss Congeniality. Miss Congeniality basically means you're homely but you smile a lot. Sarah played the flute during the talent portion. THE FLUTE?! It's Alaska! Shouldn't she have skinned a trout or danced with a grizzly bear? No wonder she lost. I did a quick search on YouTube, but couldn't find shit from the pageant. I'm sure shit will come up in the next few days.
And and I thought Heidi Montag was locked as McCain's VP?

I REALLY hope your heart hurts for the grandparents, not the mother.
I meant the grandparents...although the grandma is not being truthful, I still could not imagine the horror she must felt thinking/realizing her own daughter could/did do this...
I'm on the fence about the grandparents raised Casey to became this person vs every kid is "hardwired" differently...it's rare that any of my 4 react the same way when presented the same situation. Heartbreaking all the way around...(except for the stupid twat Casey)
After doing a little research, the new VP choice appears to be a home run. Palin is definitely a woman who kicks ass and takes name, preferably ones with an (R) behind it. Both parties could use a person like that, those who "out" their own for corruption and misuse of office. Good for her.
Should McCain win this one, which is iffy at best, we might have our own Margaret Thatcher in the making.

Legalize the weed, stop paying subsidies to tobacco farmers, the shareholders will not be isolated as the society crumbles around them

Agreed. I REALLY hope your heart hurts for the grandparents, not the mother. The mother is a lying sack of shit. They found proof in the trunk of her car of human remains. The grandparents raised that little girl like their own and the mother, whatever the circumstances, pretty much destroyed her parents any way she could.
She had problems with drugs and alcohol, stole money from the parents, the only people helping her and then (most likely) selfishly took their little girl away. Then she consistently lied and interfered with the investigation preventing them from finding Caylee.
I have no sympathy for ANYONE who rests so easy after their 3 year old daughter disappears.

I hate that people sort of glaze over all of Bill's accomplishments (getting peace talks started between Palestine and Israel in Camp David, getting us back into the black from our national debt, helping reduce the gap between the rich and the middle-class/poor) and focus solely on his infidelities. I'm sorry, but who sucks his dick is between him, Monica and his wife. It is not a matter of National security, and certainly not something to try and impeach him for. If anything, it incenses me that more people aren't all gung-ho for impeaching Bush and Cheney and his cabinet for war crimes, un constitutional illegal activities, etc. but have no problem throwing a man to the wolves for getting a bj from someone other than his wife.

Exactly, hey, I'm drinking the Obama Kool Aid right now, last night was great.
And I LOVED BILL CLINTON'S speech, it made me miss him. The whole week was awesomeness.
Now next week I am devoting just as much time to the Republican's, I wanna know and let my gut and heart get a chance to make a decision.
Now novelty aside, McCain needs to cough up some truth about this country, it's a joke right now.
But if still insists on proclaiming everything is fine and will follow suit with what Bush has been doing, I'm done with him.
We can't out source blame, the past eight years happened here.

b) kept with the parent who never wanted them, and end up being neglected or abused (case in point: Caylee Anthony, who was very likely killed by her mother who never wanted to keep her)
I thought I read that Caylee's mother wanted to give her up for adoption, but Casey's mom wouldn't let her...Hope the grandma rots in hell for not raising that baby instead of forcing the mother that didn't want her to raise her
Back in 1986, The Tuscon Citizen reported that McCain, running for his first term in the Senate, thought he'd try out some new material. Speaking before the National League of Cities and Towns in Washington, D.C. McCain cracked, "Did you hear the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die? When she finally regains consciousness and tries to speak, her doctor leans over to hear her sigh contently and to feebly ask, 'Where is that marvelous ape?'"
That's not all. In 1990, one of McCain's top fundraisers, former Texas GOP Gubernatorial candidate Clayton Williams made a rape joke of his own. Likening the experience of being raped to bad weather, he said, "as long as it's inevitable, you might as well lie back and enjoy it."

MonkeyPox: Well, it seems you've already got your mind made up and anything the GOP does would be viewed as some sort of a ploy. I, on the other hand, think Palin could be the REAL change that Obama keeps blathering on about and I'm excited about the election again. McCain has never been a typical Republican and this is not a typical choice for VP. I think people are just mad because they want to hold on to this erroneous view of Republicans as stuffy old men and ultra-religious people (I am neither).

@Bone_Daddy...Four years of free weed..Consider him beaten..
and so the spin starts --- 2 hrs - not bad.
Count Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as one of the most surprised that she was chocen as unning mate for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
In an interview just a month ago, she dissed the job, saying it didn’t seem “productive.”
In fact, she said she didn’t know what the vice president does.
Larry Kudlow of CNBC’s “Kudlow & Co.” asked her about the possibility of becoming McCain's ticket mate.
Palin replied: “As for that VP talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day? I’m used to being very productive and working real hard in an administration. We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans and for the things that we’re trying to accomplish up here for the rest of the U.S., before I can even start addressing that question.”
Her evident distaste for the office would be part of her appeal: It would show McCain is running an anti-Washington, reformist campaign.
But it also points to a huge negative for her: It robs Republicans of their most effective argument against Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) — that he lacks experience.
Before Palin’s election in December 2006 as the state’s first woman governor, she served two terms on the city council of Wasilla, Alaska (population 6,700), and two terms as the mayor/manager of Wasilla.

It's funny you mentioned weak-willed politicians, cause lemme tell you a little something about our maverick McBush here: When he ran for Presidency last time, he was pro-choice, in the case of incest, and rape, but beleived that ultimately it was up to the state to decide for itself. Now, he's all of a sudden anti-choice, even though earlier in his campaign this year, he held the same position as last time. Weird huh? You know what's weirder? He was not so much in favor of lowering taxes for corporations last time, but this time around? He's all for it! Funny how he changes his ideals to suit his party. Sad really...

Ugh, please do not preach to me about Mr. McCain and his motives. ANyone with eyes can see his very obvious motives behind this pick. And what's funny is that he had no problem slinging mud at Hillary about Bill when she was running, never mind his hypocrisy in that he left his first wife, who waited very patiently for him when he was a POW, for his current "cunt, trollop" of a wife (his words, not mine). Again, the man is pretty transparent.

And, for whoever made the comment about hunting and abortions, if it makes you feel better about the act of abortion to equate killing babies for convenience with with killing ducks for food, go for it.
