Wilshire & Washington reports that both McCain's and Obama's bitches have reached out to Saint Angelina for a possible endorsement. Both campaigns think Saint Angelina's endorsement actually matters. It's fucking true. If Saint Angelina instructed her Brangaloonies to cross all the presidential nominees off their ballots and write her name instead, they would do it in a homewrecking heartbeat. And she would totally win. Fuck, I just gave her an idea.
Angie has already said she hasn't made up her mind just yet, "I have not decided on a candidate. I am waiting to see the commitments they will make on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the needs of children in crisis around the world."
Let's be real, Saint Angelina's vote is the only vote that matters. Once her ballot goes in, all other ballots will be voided. Shit, we should just have a big ceremony to decide who will be our next president. Saint Angelina will sit on her throne, McCain and Obama will both bow in front of her, she will slowly rise and touch the head of the man she feels is worthy enough. On a related subject, I was once watching COPS or some similar reality-based show, where they busted in a house to arrest somebody for something. They are arresting the dude, and the wife and kids are running wild. The room was utterly empty except for plastic lawn furniture and, you guessed it, a gigantic, really enormous, big screen TV. Priorities are everything in life. That encapsulates the welfare culture right there. We have nothing, no pot to pee in, no couch to sit on, but dang it, we've got this big screen TV to stare at.

My rant was pretty much the same earlier in the day. Not a social worker here, but a really similar profession. I hear you and although it is nice to hear my sentiment echoed (in Lizzie's case, with cool ou's and s's instead of z's) it makes me sad to see the same is going on in Britain.

Also, a friend of mine left the social work field because she just couldn't stand the inability for these people to be self-reliant at all. She just felt contempt for them and wanted to slap them silly, as most of them were not mentally ill or in other ways really needing help and guidance to succeed, but stupid people making stupid decisions who wouldn't listen to good advice.

Good thoughts coming your way,no, it won't change, but if you have a lot of time in this place don't mess up your retirement for a bunch of losers, My sister was a social worker in Minnasota and someone shot someone, she didn't think it was worth it, she is still in the same place but doing a different job. Look at your options and best of luck to you.

On the political side. I am currently debating leaving my social worker job and stacking shelves in the supermarket as I am sick of the entitlement culture of the people I work with. When I heard a man say ‘you want me to spend my fucking hard earned money on bus fare’ to attend an appointment when his money is dole (welfare) I just felt something give up inside me. The area I work in is mostly white British whose family have not worked, literally for generations since the decline the dock industry but more realistically the rise of the benefits industry. Perfectly healthy young men on the dole because they have spurious illnesses and a whole bloody third of my wages going to keep them in drugs, cheap booze and porn. They fertilise every girl they meet as they then get flats and benefits for these FAS babies and it all just goes on. We also have loads of Africans who have recently arrived and it’s interesting to see at first they want to work, buy homes etc and then a significant proportion, not all I admit , fall prey to the have a baby or an illness culture and sit on their arse all day. Even black British friends of mine oppose more immigration but we are about to open our doors to Turkey as if we weren’t overrun with Polish men- of whom the government said they expected around 17,000 to take advantage of EEC membership and we currently have over a million in London alone with many more in Kent and other outlying areas. I am amazed that I would ever feel like this but I do because I am sick to death of doing two or three people’s jobs, long hours, exhausted to support a bunch of last bastards. And yes. I’m on leave a the moment. Dreading going back. I don’t know what it’s like to live in the US but one thing I am sure of, whoever you vote for it’s not going to change much. The interests of big business are what prevails.
Which brings us back to skanky and her ‘job’ encouraging anorexia and female stereotypes and making more for one film than a good doctor would make in a their lifetime. How she has the nerve to open her big mouth I shall never understand.

Never mind that by sacred Free Market logic, getting the most cost-effective employment at the lowest price has been orthodox. There's certainly a schism in arguing business is capable of self-regulation and then slapping its wrist when the isolationist paranoia of the G.O.P's constituents needs to be pandered to.
Due to rampant government spending -- keep in mind this occurred on the fiscal conservatives' watch -- and a wildly inflated military budget, the money to afford all those harpoons needed to spear twelve million asses just isn't in the coffers. Still, it makes a nice bumper sticker slogan solution with no real substance. Regrettably, there's no shortage of those.

As some of you know Im a former junkie. Do you know how many addicts are living on SSI checks and get section 8 housing?? I could have had both because of my "mental illness" which drove me to use drugs. (in quotes not because I do not have a legitimate mental illness, but guess what every mohterfucker on drugs does. It doesnt mean youre so disabled you cant work.)
Do you know how many other addicts were always telling me "get on SSI!! thats $400 a month!" Then when I got out of rehab and rented an apartment people from the rehab were like "Youre not on section 8? what are you stupid??" to which I say "But I work and can afford to pay for my own housing"
LOTS of Americans have no work ethic and are totally willing to live off handouts.

Oh, and PS Viva... most of our ancestors were immigrants at one point or another. My grandparents immigrated here from Ireland and Scotland. My great grandmother came from France. I have a greater respect for my ancestors than I can even express. If, however, my great grandmother had come here and demanded that everyone around her speak French to cater to her conveniences and she demanded that everything be written in French in the town she moved to while she sat on her ass all day collecting welfare just because she COULD, well hot damn I'd have a problem with it.

WTF? I even have realative who recieve public assistance and they get all bent out of shape when something comes late, or they get reassed. Like they are entitled to that money... THEIR check. Obviously Stoney you were making a huge genralization really to express your frustration with the way some modern immigrants refuse to assimilate and expect their new countried to cater to their old way of life, oh and paid for by the US goverment of course.
