The Enquirer Was Right!
Some political bitch who goes by the name of John Edwards admitted that he lied about cheating on his wife with a former campaign staffer. The National Enquirer broke the story last October. See! They get shit right, sometimes! Okay, just this once.
When the story came out, John said it was all lies. He denied the story over and over again.
In an interview which airs tonight on ABC's "Dateline," John admits to boning Rielle Hunter. He said he never loved her. I see what he's doing there. Since he doesn't love her, it's not really considered cheating. It's just two genitals dancing together. Totally platonic.
John also said he told Rielle that his wife's cancer was in remission before they did secret sexy times together.
Rielle claims John is the father of her baby, born in February of this year. John denies it and said the timing just doesn't add up. Somebody tell Maury to wait in the wings! We might need him in a bit.
John denied ever paying Rielle to keep her mouth shut, but he did say it's possible some of his friends did without his knowledge. That's just fucking laughable! That's like me saying, "I didn't smoke weed tonight, but it's possible that my friends put the bong in my mouth while I was sleeping."

This feeling of invicibility and narcissism is the same thing that, IMO, happened to Eliot Spitzer, Bill Clinton, and most powerful, rich men who cheat on their wives.

LASux, I think that the fact that his wife is dying of cancer is just too much for people to ignore. That and the fact that his wife supported him during his presidential campaign after her cancer had returned. Reports vary on this, but I tend to believe that she only found out about the affair recently (not in 2006) and he is still obviously lying. Edwards is the one who sought an outlet for his "confessional" interview........he is responsible for the attention that this is being given right now.
Non of this is a surprise of course - he was a scumbag ambulance-chasing attorney in his former professional life.........maybe he can go back to that career. His political "career" is most certainly over.

I have to say this....I have been reading the Enquirer since 1988 (started when I was 6 years old and also started reading the Post then too), and I have noticed that they frequently break major stories weeks and even MONTHS before the MSM does. I have seen stories in the Enquirer, and then seen the same fucking story weeks later in the Washington Post, and this happens ALL. THE. TIME. Seriously. So the Enquirer doesn't deserve the rap it gets. Yeah, they print some shit, but they also print a lot of pertinent info, and real SRS BIZ news. Shit, I think I remember the Enquirer printing something about this a year ago, give or take a few months....where the hell was the "legitimate, real news" MSM? Pretty fucking sad when the so-called "reputable" news sources are beaten so badly by a "tabloid"....but you also have to consider that the Enquirer doesn't really have an agenda like the MSM does. So, I trust them more than I do the MSM, and I guess I was right to do so.

Here's the latest today, from the LA Times: "The ex-mistress of former presidential candidate John Edwards said today she will not participate in DNA testing to establish the paternity of her daughter.
Rielle Hunter's lawyer, Robert Gordon, says his client is a private individual who wishes to maintain the privacy of herself and her daughter."
So Edwards paid her off and bound her by contract. Now he's free to say he's willing to take a paternity test to prove he's not the father, knowing it won't ever happen. Pretty damn sleazy.

The baby is real, but not sure about the pic of him holding a baby. The Enquirer was tipped off and laid this trap well in advance: they had 5 reporters with cameras check into the hotel in advance. They had all the entrances covered. It's a really sordid tale.

Let's not forget that he put all of us at risk who are hoping for a democrat to be elected. What if he had been the democratic nominee and this came out now? He should never have run for president with this time bomb waiting to go off. Whether you agree or not that his cheating is the public's business, the bottom line is that a lot of voters would care.

I'm pretty sure the Enquirer story says she checked into the hotel earlier with another man (not the alleged father Thompson) and the baby (two rooms). She even took the baby out for some reason. Edwards showed up later.
Last point: we know he's a mothereffin liar: he flatly lied repeatedly about having an affair with her, over a year of questions.
I'm a tabloid junkie, was going to be a journalism major for a year before I decided fuck that. The Enquirer OFTEN has exclusives that come out in the mainstream press months later. They're actually right on a LOT of things and make most of the whores they get info from take lie detector tests. I think a lot of people want everyone to think the Enquirer is always BS because it's a lot more dangerous to celebs, and a lot more accurate, than they want us to know.
Edwards was TOTALLY busted by them and he goes so far as to say "It was a CGI baby" or some shit, as if anyone gives two fucks about this philandering dork enough to form some kind of conspiracy around him.
As for the dignity and shame shit - if I have a son, it will be my goal to raise him to be a decent person with good morals who knows the difference between right and wrong. I'm no goody two shoes, I'm a huge stoner and there are things in my life that I'm doing wrong, but at least I know not to cheat and be a huge fucking raging whore with no shame or self esteem.

I think Hunter herself is the only one who can force him to have a paternity test. I don't know but my guess is he'll somehow pay her off so she doesn't make an issue of it. I'd say there's lying going on in this tale almost everywhere you look.

Yes, I think that's true. It's got to be a hard decision to make.... be hard pressed to judge her for it. I'm sure she wants some peace, but... it's got to be a tough, horrible, unenviable choice.

Our family has been through a lot. Some caused by nature, some caused by human weakness, and some most recently caused by the desire for sensationalism and profit without any regard for the human consequences. None of these has been easy. But we have stood with one another through them all. Although John believes he should stand alone and take the consequences of his action now, when the door closes behind him, he has his family waiting for him.
John made a terrible mistake in 2006. The fact that it is a mistake that many others have made before him did not make it any easier for me to hear when he told me what he had done. But he did tell me. And we began a long and painful process in 2006, a process oddly made somewhat easier with my diagnosis in March of 2007. This was our private matter, and I frankly wanted it to be private because as painful as it was I did not want to have to play it out on a public stage as well. Because of a recent string of hurtful and absurd lies in a tabloid publication, because of a picture falsely suggesting that John was spending time with a child it wrongly alleged he had fathered outside our marriage, our private matter could no longer be wholly private. The pain of the long journey since 2006 was about to be renewed.
John has spoken in a long on-camera interview. Admitting one's mistakes is a hard thing for anyone to do. I am proud of the courage John showed by his honesty in the face of shame. The toll on our family of news helicopters over our house and reporters in our driveway is yet unknown. But now the truth is out, and the repair work that began in 2006 will continue. I ask that the public, who expressed concern about the harm John's conduct has done to us, think also about the real harm that the present voyeurism does and give me and my family the privacy we need at this time.
His statement reads: "In 2006, I made a serious error in judgment and conducted myself in a way that was disloyal to my family and to my core beliefs. I recognized my mistake and I told my wife that I had a liaison with another woman, and I asked for her forgiveness. Although I was honest in every painful detail with my family, I did not tell the public. When a supermarket tabloid told a version of the story, I used the fact that the story contained many falsities to deny it. But being 99% honest is no longer enough."

The National Enquirer had this story nailed several weeks ago (with pics of Edwards holding the little girl in a late night motel visit with her mother). The lamestream/mainstream press had a blackout on the story (except for Fox News).
