Nawwwwwwwww. Purists shmearists (screw the 'film' snoots). Hell, I'll even throw in Faye Dunaway's "Mommy Dearest", Kathy Bates "Misery" in there and Farrah Fawcett from "The Burning Bed" for good measure! "Gaslight" is most definitely an excellent movie though and if some of the young folk here have never watched it I highly recommend renting it (casting, acting and storyline all A+++).
