Thanks for your stories, I think if I wasn't already against the war, I became adamant about that shit when I started seeing my boys coming home (that's if they made it home alive, of course) shell shocked, dazed and husks of their former selves. I know a guy who has 3 sons, he's never been there for their birthdays or Christmas', and when he comes home the youngest screams because he doesn't know his own father and is afraid. That soldier who gave up everything for his country came home for good because he tried to kill himself while in the desert the last time (4th tour in 5 years), beat up his wife who he absolutely adored, and started carrying a sizeable arsenal at all times. I have tons of these stories. We all do.
I heard an interview on the radio and some guy has a show or something coming about that telling these stories and he said this: The military trains these men, these BOYS to kill, to fight for their lives, to assemble weapons and dig trenches, and when the military is done with them, they do not train them how to be citizens again. That shit brought tears to my eyes.

What pisses me off the most is the fact the VA will not recognize PTSD simply because they do not have the resources to treat it!!!!!
If the VA can't treat, then diagnose and them pay for treatment by civilian doctors. My bros are paying for their treatment through their private insurance.

My two older bros have PTSD big time. Even Fourth of the July fireworks make them break out in a cold sweat. They do not watch action films for the same reason. Loud noises, explosions, lots of blood, the smell of cordite all set them off.
Meds help, though.
