Shit. Here's a reason to go back to bed, pull the covers over and not get up until Christmas. 76-year-old living legend Dame Elizabeth Taylor is reportedly on life support. That's if you believe The National Enquirer. They claim she suffered congestive heart failure. Dame Liz's children were called to her bedside.
Dame Liz was put on life support last week and sources say her condition is getting better. Thank Jeebus! She can breathe on her own now. Thank Xenu! She checked into the hospital on July 15th after a bad case of the flu turned into pneumonia.
She has four children and has been married 8 times.
Come on, Liz! You still have many divorces ahead of you! And just because, here's that amazing clip of Dame Liz howling at talk about marriage. Let's howl together for Liz!

It's not uncommon to put someone with CHF on a respirator (a.k.a. "life support") if they come down with pneumonia. It's a way of making sure that adequate oxygen gets in without overtaxing the lungs or heart. And it's not always dire.

My biggest problem with the elderly is that they always seem to insist on dyeing their hair a flat, bluish-black color or orange-y red.
True IV, she announced that she had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure about 4 years ago. In addition, she's "broken her back five times, had both her hips replaced, survived a benign brain tumor operation, skin cancer, and has faced life-threatening bouts with pneumonia twice. When asked why she now uses a wheelchair she said that she has osteoporosis and was born with scoliosis".
Congestive heart failure, while a serious disease, is an ongoing condition, not something you experience once and die, like a massive heart attack.
