Don't Drag Brit Brit Into This!

In boring ass political news, John McCain's stupid new ad compares Barack Obama to Brit Brit Spears and Wonky McValtrex.

If you're going to use footage of Brit Brit, at least use recent video of her looking tore up and carrying a Frapp. Do it right.

And if Obama is like Brit and Wonky, does that mean he doesn't wear panties and is going to give us a crotch shot soon? I'm waiting.....

Thanks Rex

I hope your right about the debates, because it seems like a lot of people in this country just have their minds made up and that's it. Its really scary!

Obama is the better of the two candidates. He has many years of wiping his own ass, feeding, bathing, dressing, and caring for himself left.

Peaches, I just pointed that out because I've heard many a person straight out say "I'm not voting for a black man." There are many out there who will base it on the color/ race of the candidate rather than what the candidate will do for the country. Obviously you're not one of them.

We are reading a lot of fake news these days. Did you remember the news about Britney's pregnancy, Lindsay's joining on the famous rich men seeking affairs """"""C e l e b C u p i d.c o m""""""""? Is this news true or not? who knows

I couldn't care less about the color of someone's skin. If Condoleeza Rice would run, she would get my vote (and I'm white.) But a little girl who lives down the block (she's white) said they had a mock election at school. One of her black friends said she was voting for Obama because her parents are voting for Obama. (This white kid down the street is darn bright for her age.) She asked her what about him makes her want to vote for him. (She really was interested in getting other people's points of view.) She told me the little black girl said, "Because he's black." And the little girl down the street said to me, "I don't think that's right to vote for or against someone just because they are black or white. That's not what is important." (This kid is 9 years old and has more intelligence than many adults.) She was just appalled at the "reasoning" behind her friend's vote, but she was just reflecting her parents' reasoning for their votes.

The past week of GOP negative ads, esp. the one that says O would rather play basketball in a gym then visits the troops is a McShame. The ad blurs the visual so you can't tell O is in a gym with the troops. What happened to the earlier promise not to go negative? I can't wait for the first debate scheduled Sept 26th or 29th.

Robertoooo's picture

JoeShmoe...seemed heroic?? What the FUCK, Mccain was heroic!! You can't argue that for a second. Obama is just a ivy league ex scumbag law school student, Just like EVERY OTHER POLITICIAN. Mccain was a war hero, adopted a black child before it was trendy(a pretty selfless act which i think speaks to his character) and was a hell of a good senator. Yes it sucks that he's sucking up to ultra religious douche bags but it's just for their votes. Bush has been so terrible that he's ruined the stranglehold white straight waspy males have held on his job. That's the only reason people want Obama. Commercials mean nothing its gonna come down to the debates. Robertoooo

I don't trust any politician. I'm still trying to figure out all of this change that Obama keeps talking about. He keeps saying he's going to change things, but I've yet to hear him say what that change is. Change for the sake of change is ignorant. I would like some facts. I want to know where a candidate stands on issues, not that they are simply going to institute change. That's bullshit. I just don't trust that. I got an email from a friend in Iraq who said that when Obama was there, he had absolutely zero interest in the soldiers, except when the cameras were on. They were flabbergasted, insulted and felt like he was an actor not a politician. He certainly didn't leave any good vibes behind no matter what his spin doctors say. Aren't these the people who he claims he wants to bring home? Why did he treat them with such disdain? I think the USA is fucked with the choices of candidates we have.

thlayly5's picture

Gonnaburn-

I try. I remember mock elections in my elementary school years, and some of the crap people said about Clinton made me so mad...

So I decided that I would never rely on insulting other people, even if it meant that the person I was having a debate with didn't realize I had successfully made my point because they were still name-calling. (a, ten year olds!)

And it meant I had to listen to other people's opinions if I wanted people to listen to mine.

And that method has worked for me so far...

My friends have always told me that they are feel free to speak their mind around me, and not just about politics, but life choices, religion, blah blah blah.

I don't feel like I have the right to be judgmental, because I would hate to be judged by someone. I guess that belief is carried out everywhere in my life- or at least I try to carry it out as much as I can. I am certainly far from a paragon of virtue. lol

This is the year that I think both candidates have a lot of strenghths. It annoys me when people assume they are the only one allowed to have an opinion and then bash instead of have a conversation. I am not a fan of W at all, however I am fairly confident that Kerry wouldn't have been that great of a choice either. I think "McShame" is harsh and unnecessary. Wait for some debates and not the BS media banter.

I'm not even a John McCain supporter, but at least I know what he stands for, what he has chosen to support or not in the past.

I am not an Obama supported either, but I can tell you who is all about CHANGE lately, McCain -- changing his views left and right; wants to distance himself from Bush one day, hires Rove the next.......

and I agree with peaches, Wonky has been out of the publicity radar for a while, it is a shame this is publicity for that mess.

I think John McCain excited a lot of sympathy and hope because of his POW past; He seemed so heroic and epitomized a lot of what is great about the USA. But in the last year or so, he's coming across as a *politician*..with a hair trigger temper.

That's the thing. He has cool t-shirts, he's young, he's black, he's an skilled orator (that's not dirty, people) but he has NO track record and he hasn't said much. I'm all for bringing the country together, but I want it to happen because people are ACTUALLY looking at what each candidate stands for and what they say they can/will do for us and it make sense and seems real. I'm not sure Obama has given anyone anything to make that decision on yet. And the election is less than 4 months away!!

thlayly5's picture

Peaches, I gotta agree with you about not treating it like a popularity contest- no matter who someone is voting for, I always get mad if they don't at least do a little research.

If someone has a good reason for voting for a candidate, I cannot get frustrated with them. Our opinions are just different. It's people that don't know anything and vote for the candidate they like that drives me nuts- even if that candidate is the one I support.

Come election time, I really do hope Obama wins... though it's hard to believe because there's still sooo many racist people in this country who will vote for McCain only because he's white.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And a lot of people will only vote for Obama because he's black. I don't know if I'm even going to bother voting this year, the candidates are just so depressing. Out of all of them I wanted Hillary to win but she's out now. Obama is too much of a celebrity to be taken seriously and seems sleazy and conniving. I felt the same way when I saw Bush speak before he was president but he was so damn stupid I didn't think he had a chance in hell to win, guess I was wrong on that one. Obama is certainly not stupid, however. McCain seems the lesser of two evils but I don't like him much, either. Atleast whoever's elected will get Bush out.

prick is good, but I came up with "asshole".

McCain is a old flappy asshole. If he's elected, I'm putting my money under my mattress, building a bunker and storing bottled water and can goods.

Too bad McCain's flappy asshole is being advised by treasonist Karl Rove.

Just Saying'-

Not to start an argument with you, but I'd rather not have a "seasoned politician." Seasoned politicians are like Cheney, and Karl Rove, and Bush Sr., who spun their image to get what they want. People voted Bush in because he seemed like a down-home guy, and man's man, someone moral, who'd do what was right. (and did he?)

Aside from the issues I personally disagree with Bush about, I think that voting in a president because of his personality is insanity. Some of the best leaders are not the nicest people. By the way, most seasoned politicians let special interest groups donate money to them to pay for their campaigns- and then become the pawn of these special interest groups.

I'd rather have someone like Obama, someone who might be idealistic, but might actually try to take a different path. Politicians all suck, but maybe Obama sucks a little less because he isn't seasoned and really believes he can make some sort of difference.

He is also well spoken, and to be a politician means to give goddamn speeches and appear to be knowledgeable. (I mean, they don't even have to write their speeches anymore- they should at least be able to read their speeches convincingly!"Our children is learning..")

I think that, for whatever it's worth, he offers a radically new image for the presidency. It's been such a long time that we've had only white Prostestant presidents- people went apeshit when JFK was elected because he was Catholic, and he was still Christian, for chrissake.

Maybe Obama isn't all her says he is. Actually, I'm sure he isn't. No politician is. I'm more scared by the connections McCain has than the ones Obama has. I'm more scared of electing another man to the office who will do the same goddamn crap we've been doing for years. And maybe voting Obama means change, and maybe it doesn't, but McCain sure as shit means to stay the course that Bush has set down.

I'd rather take a chance at some real change. That's all.

(I figured someone should go out of their way to explain it to you, that way you don't make a conclusion that all Obama supporters have no reason to vote for him. I'd would delve further into the issues, but not everyone is a liberal, or a Democrat on this site, and I don't want to push my political agenda on anyone, because I like Republicans and Dems alike and I respect other people's opinions and choices, because I'm sure they have their reasons to make those choices.)
