A Couple Of Kiddie Flicks
Above is the trailer for "Harry Poter and Blah...Blah...Blah" and below is the teaser trailer for Disney's "The Princess and the Frog."
I haven't seen a Harry Potter movie since the first one. I know, I'm totally alone on that one. That shit puts me to bed! When I went to see the first one, I was in dreamland before the beginning credits finished. Harry Potter puts me to sleep faster than an orgasm. Unless DanRad shows us his skin wand in this shit, I'm not interested. This crap comes out in November.
Now onto "The Princess and the Frog" trailer. Disney is the root of all evil, but this trailer made me feel like a giddy 8-year-old girl again. That's until the firefly with the jacked up teefs started talking. Um...that made me feel a bit uncomfortable. This shit comes out Christmas 2009.

While I agree that there is much better literature out there, the Harry Potter books have a special place in my heart. They're just fun reads, that's all. And, I was all against the series with an incredibly closed mind before I picked them up. The first two are alright, while the rest are far superior. That's why I believe a lot of folks give up after reading the first book.
The movies, on the other hand, are pure crap, and Danielle Radcliffe, along with Elijah Wood in LOTR, is among one of the poorest casting decisions known to man. WOODEN!
I thought Disney had totally shut down its animation department. Not the computer lab, but you know, the place where people actually put pencil to paper and created art?
Maybe this is all done on comps and is just in the style of hand-drawn.

I am shocked so many adults preach on what great literature this series is, especially whey they are books aimed at young adults. Im excited about BOTH of these movies! Ive seen every harry potter on opening night at midnight and except for the last one, they havent disappointed me. Daniel Radcliff is hot. I dont give a shit how hairy he is.

Hellooo, everyone knows that if you are going to kiss a frog, don't do it on a balcony 4 stories up!! If he DOES turn into a prince, he'll end up as sidewalk splat because I'm sure he'll be too heavy for a stupid princess to hold up.
I love Harry Potter movies too (& I'm 22), but I won't be standing in line to see it. Besides I love making a whole weekend out of it and seeing all of the movies together. It takes forever to make it through and you'll feel weird not "being in that world" once you finally stop watching them but it's fun. Plus I can never remember what happened in the last one.
Finally a Southern Princess and black one. I haven't seen a Disney cartoon film in a long time. Wasn't the last one that Milan one? I stopped watching Disney when I turned 7 so can't be too sure. I think once they made "Toy Story" they stopped doing cartoons. I remember seeing that movie a few times in the theater when I was a kid, it was so cool that it wasn't a cartoon movie.
I on the other hand am a major fan of all Harry Potter movies. I'm looking forward to the sixth installation, it's gonna be awesome. The pictures from Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince look great. Can't wait :)

I like the HP books, they are the only "pop" reading I own. They are in the fifth shelf somewhere below teh Fyodor Dostoevsky and teh Kafka LOL. Anyway, the movies are ok (they could be a lot better though). What I like about the latter is the adult actors. You have Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, David Thewlis, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon (He's fine but kinda I miss Richard Harris) and lately: Helena Bonham Carter! (YAY!). Too bad the director seems to favor teh teenage angst. :(
Here's to hoping Yates doesn't fuck this movie too much.

The fake seventh book is still called The Deathly Hallows....and its easy to find. Just google "fake seventh Harry Potter"...and it should come up. I saved it to my computer and my friend even printed hers up and put it in a HUGE binder. I borrowed it...but those binders are a bitch to sit comfortably and read. lol.
Whomever wrote it did an AWESOME job. They definitely made it more adult...more romantic situations, etc. Not hardcore sex or anything...but made it a little less "disney".

I have read all the books...even the fake last book. Yup...theres a fake one and its TOTALLY awesome! I have also listened to the books on audio....they're great for road trips!! Jim Dale does the voices...ALL OF THEM...and its the best! I highly recommend listening to them....especially if you dont like to read much.
Like someone said...you have to read the books because they leave out TONS of stuff that would make the movies seem more understandable.

I couldn't agree with you more. The books ARE excellent, and I HAVE read them all, more than once. It is a great story, but it is just not being conveyed in the movies. The movies are nowhere near as exciting as the books are. That being said, that movie trailer gave me chills. As someone else said, Hell to the fuckin' YEAH for Harry Potter!
For the person who said the movies are no longer kid friendly, you are right. But the books are not kid friendly either. It is a scary series as you get further along. But great.
