I have a hard time believing that Fox could have ever seriously considered casting Pam Anderson as Scully. Scully is at least partly based on Clarice Starling and I'm sure TPTB were looking for a Jodie Foster-type all along, though they may have wanted someone with greater visibility than Gillian (that I can believe).
I love Maggie's dress. I don't even like orange but thats dress is hot.

I think you are confused. They are saying that Pam Anderson was almost cast for the original series, not the new movie.
There WERE no "X-philes" (Missy is right) before the TV Series. And if Pam were cast as Scully, there would have been none after, either.
